Showtime has picked up Arrested Development (the best show ever) for 26 more episodes. That's all I know, but I'll post more when I find out.
That's it. I'm celebrating. I just opened a bottle of vodka, and it's gonna go bad if I don't finish it soon.

The final episodes were great because if the show was over, it was a good closer. However, it didn't really shut the door on anything, leaving almost all the plot lines open if the show was picked up.

it's pretty much impossible for them to write that show into a corner, so nothing that could happen would be too crazy. i am excited for them to pick up in a state of extreme chaos.

i kind of hope they still bleep everything out, because it's so fucking funny when people go on rants of bleeps.

Ahh, haha, I didn't know you had posted this. I just saw it after I replied. Hopefully it will for sure happen. (Page 6 is just the gossip section right? So it could be wrong.)
i kind of hope they still bleep everything out, because it's so fucking funny when people go on rants of bleeps.
I agree, but I think they know that. Or at least I hope so. I don't want it to get any dirtier than it is - the blue dots and bleeps must stay. I think they enjoy finding ways to turn or cover up whoever is cursing though, like they said in the commentary in one of the season two episodes.

in short..... george sr. actually was a patsy and innocent and Lucielle was actually the one who ran it all. She was found out and stole the queen mary and lead a police chase out inot the ocean while Michael and George Michael decided to start afresh in an island paradise all while buster fell off the queen mary and encountered the seal again

It is the best show ever, but I don't trust this news for a minute. The deal with Showtime DID not look like it would fall through. The fact that Jake has no source of evidence (and no online news source has any evidence, in particular) makes me think this either a rumor gone bad or someone's hope taking over the fact they need to post valid news.
I'm going to wait for evidence before I start partying about this.

It's from Page 6 - go to Google, click "news", and search "arrested development showtime." A bunch of recently updated articles will come up. Of course it's just a gossip page, but they're posting about it because the deal is really close now, I guess. But still not confirmed by the network or the show.
the report from the new york post was rumor or buzz...the show has not been picked up yet, but it is moving in the direction of being picked up...showtime wants it but it is up to the creator (mitch) if he wants to continue with the show...

Showtime has picked up Arrested Development (the best show ever) for 26 more episodes. That's all I know, but I'll post more when I find out.
is your source on this reliable? oh wait, there is no source.
im pretty positive the show ended. rod howard said it right at the end of the last episode, "it WAS arrested development"
yea the show was a brillant peice of art, but im kind of glad it ended on a high note. you will never hear people complain about bad episodes of arrested and thats a good thing.
Wow.. 26 episodes... More than I ever could have hoped for.
keep in mind, that a season doesn't run as long on a premium channel. also, it was rumored several months ago that the deal with showtime would be for two 13-episode seasons (abc's deal was rumored to be for one 18-22 episode season). so these 26 episodes would likely be spread out over 2 years.
also, this is still in the rumor stage, as the only source it seems to be coming from is page six (http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix/60385.htm).

you are part of the reason the show was cancelled... there are so many people that say they like this show, but they never made sure to watch it every week. it doesn't help if you buy the DVD's and never watch the show. you didn't watch the show once the whole 3rd season? not to be a jerk, that's not my intention at all, but make sure you watch it now.

Well, in all honesty...unless he has a Nielsen rating box, it wouldn't matter if he watched it on TV or not...it wouldn't factor into the ratings. Buying the DVDs is actually a great option for those of us (which, I assume is around 97-98%) that don't have Nielsen boxes in our houses. So...go and buy the DVDs...Season 2 is at Target for $14.99.

Hmmm. I don't know about this news. I just read this Today Wednesday at tvtattle.com
Showtime: We haven't picked up "Arrested Development"
Addressing all those rumors swirling around, Showtime spokesperson Stuart Zakim says: "Nothing has changed since Robert Greenblatt spoke to the critics in January."
I hope this is wrong.
