Larry Brown what the fuck are you thinking? How do you take Curry out basically for the entire second half in place for Jackie Butler? Curry sucks but he can still score a bit and play somewhat better defense then Butler. And why in the world are Qyntel Woods and Q-Rich starting!?! Jalen Rose has played solid ball since he's been here and you bench him. How does Q-Rich play 33 Minutes!!! The only guys on this team who should be getting minutes are Curry, Frye, Lee, the Roses, Francis, and Marbury. That is it and no one else. At least just play your talent.

no, very wrong, brown is a fantastic coach, one of the best (i put him ahead of riley and phil jackson), it is isiah' fault, the last two days i have been listening to a lot of sports radio in new york, and they cannot stop talking about how bad this team is, they are screwed even more because they traded their first round draft pick (which will almost definately be a top 5) to the bulls in the curry trade, brown has nothing to work with

that is what they have been doing the whole season and they have sucked, these guys are quitters and that is why they are losing, curry is a lazy bum, steve francis and marbury are both franchise killers, i agree that frye and lee should be getting minutes, after that i really do not care, they need to cut half the team and just bring up development league guys, at least those guys will play hard and will listen to brown

The Knicks are just an awful team this year and it sucks. Larry Brown is a good coach, but he doesn't have much of a team to work with. This team plays NO defense and doesn't pass the ball enough. The Knicks core (Frye, Robinson, Lee) is great and they should hold onto them. Maurbury isn't being the veteran leader he needs to be and I haven't seen enough of Jalen Rose to judge him yet. However, I do think that the Steve Francis is a bad acquisition. I live in Orlando so I see him getting covered in the papers a lot, he isn't a team player and he isn't the type of guy the Knicks need right now.

first, nate robinson is not the type of player to build a team around, he is basically the same player as francis, who is the same player as marbury, and those two guys do the same thing a whole lot better than robinson, marbury isn't being a veteran leader because he is not a leader, this guy's whole career has been a bust

it is scary how much trouble the knicks are in, a ton of big contracts, no first round pick this year, and a lack of taletn already, they cannot really make trades because they will never get rid of the guys they truly do not want anymore (francis, curry, marbury), i am really starting to feel bad for them because they will probably be in the bottom five for at least the next two seasons after this

it sucks, i like alot of the players on the knicks (frye, robinson, lee, curry) and id really like to see them make a cinderella push to the playoffs one year, but i just can't see it happening any time soon. I'm one of the few people that kinda liked the curry pick-up even though im willing to admit it was completely impractical, i just think he has tons of potential to be awesome, even though i liked sweetney on the team. I know they need alot of work, but if they can pick up a reliable point guard to run the team (chris paul is the kinda guy that could run this team, i think, i know they're never gunna get him but having him with curry and frye among others sounds awesome, i just can't think of any other good examples right now) i think they'd be in alot better shape. I kind of like Rose off the bench, just because he's such a spark that if they had him sitting in the future (assuming they had a stronger starting line-up with better chemistry above all else) he'd have 6th man o.t.h. capabilities. First and foremost (aside from needing a new G.M.) they need a point guard, then i'd just say move francis to S.G., play curry, frye, and whoever and have rose and nate-rob off the bench. I really do want to see them win.

It's not even that Larry sucks, he is just being stubborn. They played hard tonight and Marbury stepped up his game huge. The think is Larry is so stubborn that he won't listen to anyone. To me it seems like Larry is using this year to get Isiah out of the Knicks (he'll be gone anyway). In turn Larry will help bring in a GM who he can puppet and tell what to do. This is how I see the knicks

-2 players that are the foundation of the team Frye and Lee.
-2 Players who we need one of between Francis and Marbury. I prefer Marbury. You can't deny that Marbury and Francis are talented and they can score. They are SG's playing the PG position but they are talented.

From there what can they do. After next season they have 61.7 Million dollars coming off their payroll. Stephon, Francis, Jerome James, Crawford, and Q-Rich don't come off the payroll till after the 08-09 season. So in reality they barely have any trade value. So what can we do, or better off what would I do?

Expectations will be low next year. Keep this team and we will win more games. Make some minor, minor moves. Trade an expiring contract for an expiring contract, one that will fit Larry's game more. Use our mid-level exception for a guy that Larry wants this year. What a lot of people don't know is we actually have 2 first round draft picks this year. What we don't have is our lottery pick. Right now our picks are from Toronto and the Spurs Pick. We in some way I'm sure could package that with the 16 mil from Rose possibly. If not hold on to those picks and we could get anyone from Josh Boone from UConn to Paul Davis from Mich St. to Pittsnoggle to Hassan Adams to maybe even Marcus Williams.

Hypothetically our roster could look like this

Curry
Frye
Lee
Marbury
Francis
Jalen Rose
Malik Rose
Q-Rich
Jerome James
Crawford
Nate Rob
Paul Davis the Center from Michigan State
Hassan Adams the SF from Arizona
Mid-Level Exception for Mike James or Speedy Claxton

That is a solid core of players right there. There is a chance trades could be pulled off because Rose's salary does come off after next year and Francis does have some trade value. If you need to just buyout contracts. Buyout Malik Rose or trade 2 players for one. Do something

i really feel bad for the knicks. they have been a disgrace for the past few years now..and it's a real shame cause they have like the highest payroll, and it's fucking nyc you know, you'd think we could obtain better talent or better trainers or just fucking get shit right. it's funny i used to be the biggest knicks fan, from around the time i played basketball which was from 5th grade-soph year of hs (i'm in college now, so forgive me for being behind in the knick times or getting some facts wrong). the knicks had some good runs, like the playoffs with the heat.. and the pacers , those were some really intense games. hell we even were the eastern conference champs at one point the past decade. its sad cause it seems those days have been long gone. i was hoping with larry brown on board things would turn around. i also thought i. thomas would bring something to the table.. but we're just spitting out money on a very young roster. i guess in time we can only hope for more growth and maybe those good years to come back.

my favorite player was john starks, good ol' #3.
yours?

ewing was like my dad's favorite player. he was damn good during his peak. for some reason my sister liked chris dudley. larry johnson was good, charles oakly even better, charlie ward played his spot well, chris childs had a hot temper, john starks was my fave, and i thought kurt thomas was one hell of a relentless rebounder, one of the better players during these really dark knick times.

isiah is getting alot of shit for this team, which he should. but larry brown should get shit because he's got a shitty team and cannot equal last years win total. he's done a shitty job improving this teams win total like "he's done so many times before" in the NBA.

Edit: And I love watching the knicks just suck.

whoever said larry is a better coach than riles or jackson is an idiot. you sir, need to look at history. riles and jackson both have better winning percentages, have missed the playoffs a total of two times combined, compared to larrys six. larry brown is a good coach. but by no means is he great. that's a ridiculous statement. larry, isiah, and the knicks front office are gone at seasons end.

if there is any team in new york that really shouldn't warrant being hated are the knicks. they are known for having very loyal intelligent fans, and aren't a yankee type tyranny. people just like seeing NY do bad.

of course they're saying that. the nba is a shady business. and i doubt it would be rob. but petes been contacted by the knicks, bobcats, and two others. so there's a definite possibility.
