Much in the vein of Sean's thread in general, however not genre specific. I need someone to recommend me a show to start watching that is equally good and addicting.
Shows I already watch/have seen/have seen enough of:
-Lost
-Mad Men
-30 Rock
-Scrubs
-Arrested Development
-Friday Night Lights
-Weeds
-The Office
-Heroes
-24
Shows I don't want recommended:
-How I Met Your Mother
-Entourage
-True Blood
-Anything that sucks
I'm kind of interested in ___, but on the fence:
-Dexter
-Pushing Daisies
Anything that isn't listed would be preferred (I love surprisingly falling in love with shows), but if nothing else suffices and someone can convince me toward watching Dexter or Pushing Daisies, that'll work too.
Thank you, friends of the Entertainment Forum.

Dexter, Pushing Daisies, and Dead Like Me are awesome. I think you can get the complete Dead Like Me for $40 or so at Target.
Oh mannn I used to love Dead Like Me so much.

CSI was ridiculously addicting for me. Ended up watching all 9 seasons (over 200 episodes) in the span of a few months. Definitely check out Dexter though. I always heard people talk about it but never cared to check it out and I'm really glad I did.
Also: Breaking Bad

I bought all three seasons of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia the other day for cheap at Best Buy. 25$ a piece and 1 & 2 are packaged together. Definitely give it a shot if you haven't yet, show is great

Dead Like Me is about an unsuspecting girl who dies at a young age and is told in her death that she is to become a grim reaper.

High school chemistry teacher gets diagnosed with terminal lung cancer so he sells meth to get money to pay for his medical costs/to leave with his family when he's gone. It's a really good dark comedy. Easy to catch up too cause there's only 20 episodes so far.

All you need to do is watch the pilot of Dexter and Pushing Daisies and you'll be hooked. Both GREAT shows, very worth it. Oh man, you are in for such a treat. Also, watch Veronica Mars. Best show ever.
I've been wanting to get into The Wire but I couldn't find any quality streams.

Give 24 a try if you're looking for something pretty entertaining without having too many layers.

Also watch Band of Brothers, probably one of the greatest things to ever be put on film in my opinion.

I'll probably check out almost everything recommended, starting with the shorter series'. So I'll check out Breaking Bad and Pushing Daisies, see if I dig 'em and knock those out before checking out The Wire, Dexter, and Dead Like Me. Thanks for the help guys (and gal).

I forgot to add this to my first list, but thanks anyway. I think this will probably be a series I revisit later down the road.

Pushing Daisies shares its creator with Dead Like Me. If you will like one, you should like the other. Its funny, the shows are kind of opposites of each other.

The Wire is far and away the best television show you could possibly watch. It really is like watching a 60 hour movie. I cannot say enough good things about that show.

Blow me (plz). I'm actually not really looking for a comedy right now, otherwise that'd be at the top of the list.
I'd also like to recommend the shield, great show.
Haven't really enjoyed the parts I've seen. Plus:
Bill Simmons
I can't watch "The Shield" because I flew on an airplane with Michael Chiklis once and he's no taller than 5-6. I'm supposed to buy him as a bad-ass renegade cop? What's he going to do, beat the crap out of someone's shins?
Also, is there anywhere to watch The Wire online (other than SurfTheChannel)? I'll probably end up finding a torrent, but I'm lazy.

dexter is an awsome show but you have to watch every single episode to get a real gyst of who he is and why he does what he does. The philanthropist mainly because of neve campbell but its got interesting stories of a billionaire using his name and connections for good. we have lif e which about a cop who was framed and imprinsioned for years and let go for lack of dna evidence and now he is trying to bring down the people responsible for taking his life.
The listener : A boy with a unique ability grows up to become a paramedic and learns to stop hiding his ability and use it to help people and ends up teaming with a detective who is really hot and then he has his sidekick pal who learns about the power and now he has a nice team of viglantes so to speak.
Eureka - A nice SyFy show[name changed for some dumb reason used to be sci fi] its mainly about a federal marshall that gets pulled into a unique town with amazing technologies and they want him to assume the job of sheriff.
Those are a few shows i watch and are interested in thus far but i have no tv so i rely on hulu haha.

I decided to watch Dexter and am a bit disappointed. It's pretty good, love everything directly involved with Dexter's own storyline, but absolutely no other character's interests have given me any reason to care about their stories. Not to mention Deb has become one of my least favorite TV show characters ever.
