Easily the best RPG ever IMO.
I loved Morrowind. Unforunately WoW and some other games have taken up my time recently so I haven't played Morrowind in quite some time.
These are some of the best graphics I've ever seen from a video game.

Does anyone know if Blockbuster does the thing where you rent something and then decide you want to keep it, you can just pay off the rest of the amount you owe? I know they do it for movies, but I don't know about games. I've never been big into games like this, but I might have to give it a try.
I know I could have worded that better...sorry

If you haven't played any of the Elder Scrolls series games they basically go like this. They are a RPG with a huge amount of gameplay time. You can either stick with the quests and follow that, or you can go off on your own to do your own thing. But there are literally thousands of hours of gameplay in this game and it's extremely open ended. PLUS this game has the best graphics of any game I've seen up to this point.

No - thats the thing. I played fable on a friends xbox and star wars kotor for pc, but other than that no rpgs for the xbox. I guess ill just rent it before i decide.
But by the way, Burnout as far as i know is the exact same game as for ps2 with better graphics. It's a really good game, but I rented it and almost beat it in a weekend. I played the demo for x360 and hated the controlls compared to ps2, so unless you are used to using triggers for accel/brake or can change the controlls, and haven't played ps2/xbox version, it's pretty good.

If you're a perfectionist, it's definitely not short. There's like 10 classes and x amount of stars in each class (5 stars per event, at least 7 events per class, a bunch of different types of events). There's signature takedowns for each map (a special way to make your opponents crash) and there's 8 or so different high score kinda things for each map as well. There's 36 accheivements (about 1000 points in total if you care about that sorta thing) and the online mode (don't know if you got that set up yet or not) is really really good and addictive.

Oblivion is supposed to be open-ended like Fable and KotOR, but I'm not sure how the gameplay goes.
There's minor additions to the game. Like 10 crash junctions, the acchievements, and the online play is amazing and better compared to last gen. They also reworked every sound in the game and tweaked the graphics. Like I said, if you're a perfectionist, this game wouldn't take a weekend to beat. I bought the previous gen version, never finished it, and I am very happy with the new version.

The only thing I'm not liking about the game is the user interface. I'm used to playing World of Warcraft and even Morrowind's was a bit less complicated then this. Well, it's not that it's complicated, it just takes too long to get to what you need.
Other then that, I'm fully satisfied. It's ridiculous. You can pick things up and throw them. You can grab onto stuff that's hanging and move it around. You can even pick up bodies and move them. You can hit jugs and stuff on tables and they move. You can even hit bodies after they've already been killed and they move. It's just crazy the amount of things you can do in this game. It's fuckin' INSANE!

Should I spend 300 bucks to upgrade my graphics card to a NVIDIA 7800 (amazing) and then buy the game or buy the game right now and play it on my Radeon 9800?

Depends which type of 9800 you have, the pro and ultra whatever models can be pretty good. I would stick with ATI though for video cards. If you can afford it, go for the X1600 or X1700s.

Hmmm, I was slightly skeptical about Oblivion after I got it last night especially since I've been playing WoW and being extremely addicted to that, but I feel the Oblivion addiction setting in the more and more I play it (granted I've had it for one day). I'm still not liking the user interface, but I suppose I can get over that.
Also, I noticed what someone was saying earlier about issues with the graphics. It seems when you're out of cities the grass disappears when it's far away and reappears when it gets closer.

Yea, but you're not a fan of RPG's so how can you even say that this is weak when it's completely not your style of game?
There are endless amounts of hours of gameplay in Oblivion. The graphics are more amazing then anything I've ever seen before and the world it's so insanely interactive. It's more realistic then any RPG I've played prior to this and I love it for that. I mean, when you die or you kill someone your body just doesn't fall to the ground like a log it actually moves like a real body would.
The storyline for all the Elder Scrolls series is extremely in depth. It takes some patience to play the Elder Scrolls series and those with ADD definately wouldn't enjoy it (not saying that's what you have), but it's more of a satisfaction that comes over a long period of time then just a quick fix.
Have you even played Oblivion yet Slade? If not how can you be basing such judgement on it?

C'mon now, I know my shit when it comes to games.Okay, let me rephrase that then. You seem to be only a fan of more cartoonlike (I don't know if this is really the right word) RPGs from what I've read. And you're not going to get a good judge of the game (especially if you've never played any of the Elder Scrolls series prior) if you play it for a little bit at Gamestop. I will agree with you that the user interface for this game sucks. I don't like it at all. I wish they would take the user interface from Morrowind and put it in this game, but whatever, I can deal with it.
Right now I'm having a difficult time determining what game I want to invest more time in...World of Warcraft or Oblivion. Both games are RPGS (WoW being an MMO of course) and both are going to take a hearty investment of time. I've already invested a lot of time into WoW so since I got Oblivion last night so it's hard to stray away. WoW has that more cartoonish feel to it then Oblivion. To me Oblivion feels much more realistic then any game I've ever played prior. WoW seems to have a quicker result or quests and such (although even those take a long time) then Oblivion will. I don't know, part of me feels like if I'm in the mood for some quicker gaming action when I'm not going to get uber indepth I'll choose WoW, if I want something a big deeper I'll choose Oblivion. I'm not really sure how to describe it because I know that WoW isn't a quick fix type of game, but it feels more that way to me then Oblivion.

Team Ninja is a developement circle of Tecmo...they are a completely different entity from MS. See the example below.
With Oblivion, MS hired 2K games to publish for them, thus trusts them with the projects they are going to put out. 2K hired Bethedsa Studios to develope the game. MS has no hand in the type of games 2K decides to publish on the 360 or Windows, let alone the games themselves. Why do you think there is no Microsoft logo on Oblivion or Ninja Gaiden other than the Xbox/360/Xbox Live logo?

With Oblivion, MS hired 2K games to publish for them, thus trusts them with the projects they are going to put out. 2K hired Bethedsa Studios to develope the game. MS has no hand in the type of games 2K decides to publish on the 360 or Windows, let alone the games themselves. Why do you think there is no Microsoft logo on Oblivion or Ninja Gaiden other than the Xbox/360/Xbox Live logo?
Team ninja only makes games for MS now.
Besides, the point is that NG is the best game to ever come out on a microsoft system.
They need to get the sequel out soon.

Okay, let me rephrase that then.
I'm not really sure how to describe it bec ause I know that WoW isn't a quick fix type of game, but it feels more that way to me then Oblivion.
I'd say wow, because you can get a return on your time investment. Haha, I sold my account last year for a buttload. To be fair though, you have to know people to get good gear and such. Just getting level 60 isn't going to get you money anymore. You also need to be able to do shit for 4-8 hours non-stop, heh. But then again, I haven't played oblivion.

Haha, yea. I'm not that super crazy about playing WoW though. I was talking to someone from my old guild about what I should do when I reach 60 because I don't have 8 hours to kill in an instance during the week or even the weekend. He was saying that I should just go on raids and up my rankings and I think that's what I'll do.
I think this weekend will be devoted to Oblivion however. Funniest thing is, my friend who's obsessed with WoW and got me into it to begin with hasn't played it for like 5 days and has been playing Oblivion instead. Haha
Eh, graphic problems.
Everything's smooth up until after the introvideo where the king talks about dying. "In-game" everything is white. I recently updated my driver aswell. Any ideas?

I missed this post, sorry Andy.
Ummm, I have no idea. It takes a beast of a computer to run this game and run it well, so...

I finally beat the main storyline after doing a ton of side quests. The ending cutscene is so disappointing.

Well when I first got it I was playing it like 3-5 hours a day for maybe a week. Then it switched to 1-2, then 1-10 hours a week. The main story line really isnt that long. I think i'm about 50 hours played.

Never mind about that, I found that out.
I just couldn't find the town in which the Emperor's heir resides.
Even after following the signs and road.

Make sure you get in on the massive amount of awesome side quests and stuff that you can do in the game. Also if you get tired of the main quest you should get Shivering Isles, that expansion is amazing (graphically and storyline wise)
I still feel as if Oblivion is the best game I have ever played.
