Why post this on AbsolutePunk instead of something like the B9, where people would half-care instead of not care at all?
PS You better be at the Punch show next week in Boston

Yeah, I called it too. There is a huge wave of American Apparel and Nike clad hoodie kids headed straight for this band's junk.
See you kids at the Boston show.

I didn't think Nike kids would be into it.
I love the full length so much, one of my favorite hardcore records of the year thus far.

not sure where you're getting this "bragging" notion from, i didn't even imply liking this band.

Well, I can't fault you for not having your finger on the pulse of the scene because that may be better than perpetuating idiotic fitting of bands into genres. But yeah, they are to a lot of teenagers.

Are you saying I'm one of the kids that thinks Ceremony invended powerviolence? Cause that seems like a tad bit of an overassumption, but I think I've ended up in the background of some of your photos, so I will let it slide, as you've probably captured my wonderful side. :-p

What? You're only a kid that associates them with powerviolence if you say they are the essential powerviolence band.... Why are so many people on AP just not on their game tonight? *facepalm*
i had no clue there was a music elitist law code/bible for only allowed to discuss certain bands and styles of music on specific forums. i must be getting old :-(

Haha, I blame work. If you grill sandwiches long enough, your brain starts to go.
I wasn't trying to make some sort of supreme call out or anything, I just didn't really know who the joke was directed at.
Anyway, will you be photographing at the show Jul. 22nd?

Nothing elitist about it, just saying that targeting your audience is usually a good thing because I've definitely posted bands in the past here that just didn't fit the mold of the typical AP band that ripped off TBS or Brand New, and it totally flew over people's heads. Just a hop away on other forums, my recommendations were getting wild replies. Punch is definitely a band I could see posted about on B9, Deathwish, LemmingTrail, local hardcore and punk boards. Only thing that will invalidate this argument is the fact that we are posting back and forth debating shit that isn't even related to the band's music, making more view counts and inevitably making people check out the band. I guess that's a win, but in a backasswards way

I'm going to sound like a major wimp, but to truly understand everything, you need to wear some earplugs, otherwise it just sounds like one person on either side of you making really loud static noises directly into your ear drums. They seriously play THAT loud.
Ear plugs in and voila, you can hear every note!
and I like Punch too. I fear that they will be one of the million bands that releases an album to mass acclaim and then everyone drops though. For example, I do not hear anyone enjoying Capsule anymore, which is a goddamn shame because they are great.

I think it is because Blue was so fucking amazing (on the topic of Capsule). I still like them but from all the negative shit I hear about them as dudes it's hard for me to really care much y'know?
And I wear plugs to most shows anyway.

Really, what have you heard? I mean, I dunno, I feel like you hear negative stuff about everyone sooner or later. There are just people that dislike other people for whatever reason, and then there is the classic miscommunication, you know? A lot of people that there was "kid's an asshole" gossip about ended up being really nice to have as acquaintances.

I have never seen mind eraser. I would imagine it's a hoot (and very earplug friendly).
Alright kids, I think I'm out for a while, good talk.
Also, futurebreed: sorry for the epic fail/awkwardness/possible interpreted contempt with the whole ceremony joke. I'm pretty awkward and about as subtle as a brick through a window, so a lot of stuff flies around me (not really over me, around)

Wednesday they are playing a show in Roxbury down here.... Easily one of the sheer heaviest bands I've ever shot for. Their set in Brockton blew my mind. Try to make it if you can, or at least catch them at the Fest we are having in Boston in September (18th to 20th). And don't worry about it!

i put capsule and furnace up once and they were the nicest dudes i ever put up at my house. they were one of the few bands i ever had at my house who actually talked to people instead of just hiding out in a corner by themselves.
