dusty springfield - dusty in memphis
sam cooke - ain't that good news, night beat
hollie smith - long player
otis redding - otis blue, complete & unbelievable: the otis redding dictionary of soul
the whispers - the whispers, love for love, headlights
ray charles - modern sounds in country & western music, the genius sings the blues, the genius of ray charles, what'd i say
the temptations - sky's the limit, all directions, masterpiece, 1990
breakwater - breakwater
tracy chapman - tracy chapman
free life - free life
the blackbyrds - city life, flying start
anthony hamilton - ain't nobody worryin'
robert randolph & the family band - colourblind

I'm looking for bands similiar to Propagandhi, but Today's Empire era Propagandhi NOT skatepunk propagandhi. Please no Wilhelm Scream/BigWig/Good Riddance.

Also, looking for very noisy bands like A Place To Bury Strangers.

Uhh most of these are pretty obvious, but

Descendents (if you don't know this one already then shame on you.)
The Ergs!
Dillinger Four
Off With Their Heads (specifically the Hospitals EP)
Broadway Calls (listen to their self titled)
The Menzingers
The Steinways (not the best, but kind of fun.)

And though these aren't my favorite kind of Pop-punk, I started listening to these guys recently and they might be your thing:

Osker - Idle Will Kill
Audio Karate - Lady Melody

Thank you, I've listened and love most of those bands, I just started listening to Broadway Calls, pretty good. As for the Descendents I've heard a handful of songs, but don't have any complete albums. Any recommendations?

Thats nto good man. Descendents are the best pop punk band. Haha. Check out Milo Goes To College, Everything Sucks, ALL, and Cool To Be You in that order. Everything Sucks is probably their most accessible, but Milo is their best. I havent listened to Enjoy or I Don't Want to Grow Up though so I can't speak ont hose.

not familiar with them other than they're a (/an acoustic) guitar duo? other great worldly guitar players:

ernest ranglin - in search of the lost riddim
the man who many attribute to inventing ska & defining reggae. his roots are in classical guitar with a strong swing (& now swing/ska) taste. one of my absolute favourites

paco de lucia - la fabulosa guitarra de paco de lucía
guitar virtuoso god from spain - been setting the fretboard on fire since the late 50's. his influence is unparalleled in the flamenco genre

franco - originalite
his sound is something along the lines of rapid acoustic guitar floating over cuban beats & native african sounds. very fast paced guitar player, once hailed as perhaps the best in the world

ali farka toure with ry cooder - talking timbuktu
often hailed as the greatest blues album ever, from one of the best guitarists ever. he fuses western blues with traditional malian influence. highly emotional, one hell of a musical journey

Narrow Stairs is alright, it has some really good tracks, but it also has some really shitty tracks... I would take Plans and Transatlanticism over it any day. Only reason I really listen to photo album at all is because styrofoam plates is my favorite death cab song, haha
