Regardless, I'm looking forward to this. The minions as well as the voice cast are enough for me to see this.

Kung Fu Panda is great. Cloudy is the weakest of the 3, but it's worth a watch if you like the genre.

I think it's just easy to compare the two movies since they both came out at close dates. If it was a dreamworks movie, we probably wouldn't even bother comparing the two. If anything, it's a compliment to despicable me.

With that said, even though Toy Story 3 was a better movie overall, I laughed sooooooooo much more at this.

There were a lot of "awww, that's sad" moments for me, but definitely no crying.

Also, a sequel is now in the works (http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/07/13/despicable-me-sequel-in-development/). I have been thinking about what they would do for a sequel since I saw it and I was kind of stumped. A guy at /film said it well:

And now that Gru might be somewhat reformed, the character becomes a lot less interesting. I would propose that Illumination look into creating a prequel showing how Gru came to find The Minions, and revolve the story around the small yellow creatures.
