it's supposed to be intense, but they're using that whole bedtime story angle, which is throwing me off. but apparently the characters he finds in the film are from a storybook, so... but that only adds to my intrigue.
i've always been a big Shymalan fan. he catches a lot of flak, but his movies are so original and finely tuned. he pulls out great performances. he never strives to make a masterpiece but to make entertaining cinema, and in turn creates entertaining and fresh films. hate his twists if you'd like(Signs/The Village), but they are well made, with a certain atmosphere that only Shymalan is able to create.

i love his movies too. did you by chance watch the oscars last night and catch his american express commercial? i watched a thing on him directing it and hes amazing. i love the idea of his twists in the plots of his movies. kinda of like the reason i go to see these movies. to see how he'll completely fuck with my mind this time. i dont watch many movies that you have to think about when you're watching them, cuz i have ADD and i lose interest too easily haha. but m night shymalan definately can keep me interested and i love that.

i didnt really know what to expect from it. i love the story so i couldnt imagine it being a bad movie. but ended up loving the movie more than the book. just because its like now there are images to compare from your own imagination with the story to the movie.
