Threads and Blogging

I'm new to this site and I need a bit of help.

What's the difference of a blog and a thread?

Oh and also, what do people usually write on other people's walls?? In other words, what are they for?

Blog's are written by users about anything they want. You can write one too if you want just click "My Blog" or "write a blog entry" Threads are either on the front page as a news post or in the forums. News threads are posted by staff members and forum thread can be posted by anyone.

The walls are basically useless unless you want to say something to a specific user for whatever reason, but you could private message also.
