View Full Version : Necrophilia
Let's say a person signs an advance directive saying that, in the event of their death, they agree to allow their spouse to use their body for sexual gratification in any way they please, for as long as they desire. Should this be legal? Morally speaking, if one person consents that they fully support their spouse using their body in such a way after they die, would this be wrong?
What are people's thoughts on this?

um, i probably wouldn't support any legislation against it. of course, there are health risks with such behavior but it isn't really the governments job to make us not do unhealthy shit (especially since we don't have a universal healthcare system yet).

Forget the idea that it is, in fact, totally gross. There's no way someone could have a "physical relationship" with a corpse without - at the very least - developing those things.

It's just lump of flesh, if you just ignore the fact that it has absolutely no animation, there's not much different. It's almost like masturbation, just with another body.

what do you mean pretend? It is a hunk of (soon to be) rotting meat. It's not living, it's not breathing, it's just meat. Like a dead cow, pig, or chicken, its just meat, nothing more, nothing less.

So, if you were to just randomly find a dead body on the street, you'd just be like: "hmm, whatever" ?

I agree, people should read the original post for what it truly was. It's not like he is proposing we exhume dead bodies and start having skeletal orgies. Chillax folks.
It's a health issue.
I'd say its illegality is more based on a moral issue.

Tasteless? In what way? Seems to me like a perfectly valid moral and legal issue to discuss.

Violating the bodies of the dead
Immoral because they can't consent and it's perverted
Illegal because you violate the rights of the deceased
/discussion
If you want a conversation about necrophilia just for kicks, just admit it. But don't pretend like there's that much to discuss about the immorality/illegality of it.

Uh, we're not talking about it's illegality. I'm aware that it's illegal. That's like saying we shouldn't discuss whether someone should have the right to give an advance directive to be actively euthanized under certain circumstances because it's illegal.

I think that's what he was proposing being discussed. If the dead, prior to dying, allowed it to occur, would it be a violation of their rights?
With that being said, I think this is batshit nuts, but mostly cause I would never want to do this.

Fair enough. I suppose if I left it in my will that I wanted to be diddled after I died...who is anyone to deny my dying wishes?

I honestly don't understand why anyone would want that done to them...or why anyone would want to torture themselves to do that with, what I am assuming is, a dead loved one. That would just be bittersweet.
I also think it's gross, but that's a total other issue.
What a weird, yet very interesting question. I've never thought about this.
I think my main argument against it is that it's disturbing and seems to go against society's rules and morals. But to answer your question, if a person gives consent before they die for their spouse/partner to have sex with their dead body then maybe it shouldn't be considered an illegal act. I say maybe because I'm still on the fence about this. And you have to wonder about the spouse's mental state if they decide to go through with getting it on with a dead body.

if someone wants to make an argument besides "it's immoral", then they'd have a point. it's disgusting, but so is a lot of things that are currently legal. unless there's like super big health risks involved that could effect other people. i fortunately do not know enough about necrophilia to know anything about the implications of said act.
but i mean, reanimator was a good movie.

Just curious... did you bring this up because you have a terminally ill girlfriend/wife that you want bone after she passes? Are you looking for approval by anonymous people in this forum to do the dirty deed with a cold, stiff corpse? I'm not suggesting this is an invalid debate, but what was your intention with bringing this up? In any case, I wish you luck in your desire to stick your wang doodle in in the flaky, crusty orifice that was your spouse's vagina.
PS - will "mung" be involved? (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mung)

It would never be allowed. There are definitely health risks involved mentally and even if there were no risks people would still find a way to make it illegal simply because everyone would go ewww.
