Have your views changed on the 360/PS3/Rev debate? [Archive]

I remember prior to launch and shortly afterward, there was a whole lot of hating on the 360. I got a premium for xmas and I've been in love with it ever since, I think it's a near flawless system, just great in every aspect. So I'm just wondering if anyone has converted, especially with the very stellar game lineup that it now boasts:

Burnout Revenge: 8.9

There are also many other stellar games coming soon. I would love to have a good debate about the 3 systems, espeically agains the 360 haters, so please step right up as to what you think of this next generation of consoles

one big prob with xbox (besides the obvious one, being made by microsoft) ...

i was playing FNR3 with a friend last night....and that little button with the xbox logo is too close to hit. that kid hit the x to launch the dashboard like 10 times, and paused it another 5. i mean, sure he is a button masher, but they should have moved the buttons to make it so u don't accidentally hit those.

Revolution
Better games? Free internet, same franchises in new ways? new franchises? 20 years of gaming? Affordable, great graphics online play. What else is there?

I agree with all of that, I am so in love with the idea of downloading goldeneye and mario kart, and I'm sure I'll love the Rev price as well, but still two questions remain for me before I'll decide on buying one:

1) how's the controlller really going to work? I'm going to have to hear some real strong reviews or get some hands on with it first

2) Will it have a decent online service? I've heard nothing really good about DS wi-fi and I'm totally spoiled by live so let's hope nitendo has a good service ready

I have used a gyration mouse, the only diffrence is this will control foward and back also. Not just up down left and right. its going to be sick.

I love my 360. I've enjoyed all the games I've gotten so far (Madden, Call of Duty 2, Fight Night 3, soon Ghost Recon and possibly Oblivion). One of my favorite features is being able to download demos and trailers of games/movies. The Live Arcade is pretty cool too. I don't like all of the available games, but when Street Fighter 2 is available, it'll be great. It's also nice being able to stream the music from my computer while I'm playing a game. (As well as pictures on the dashboard).

Perfect Dark is horrendous.

Those are the only 2 games he has. They're both decent games, but nothing that I haven't seen before. I'm getting tired of the same old futuristic FPS (see metroid 1 and 2) and all of those war games.

MP1 and 2 are unlike any other FPS. They were more like adventure games.

ill probably get em all eventually. i'm not a super hardcore gamer, but nothing's better than unwinding after a long day with some old school nintendo, grand theft auto, or halo.

I really really hope the Revolution lives upto its potential since I've always been a nintendo man at heart, however I agree that all the consoles have a lot to live upto in terms of online serves in order to keep up with Xbox live. Whether people like it or not the Xbox live capabilities of Halo 2 are head and shoulders above any other current gen online services both in layout and playability. Unless the Revolution and PS3 can live upto this I can see myself being distinctly dissapointed.

However much I love Zelda, Mario, GTA and MGS the overall number of hours of funtime I've inadvertantly had playing Halo online far outweighs them all (ill probably end up buying all 3 consoles regardless, I just think online gaming is the future and its very important all the systems get it right if they want any hope of winning the console war).

Online playability is just a bonus. But yes, x-box live is pretty cool. I don't see nintendo surpassing that unfortunately. I could be wrong, but will it happen? eh.. i'm still going to most likely buy a revo though.

I'll probably get a revolution because of how cheap it is, then I'll get a 360 or ps3, depending on how easy they are to mod. Most likely a PS3, the only reason I'd get an xbox would be if I could mod it.

I have a 360 and plan on buying a Revolution. I doubt I'll ever pick up a PS3 unless when it's released if I hear really good things.

I want to go with the Ps3/Revolution combo... the concept of Revolution just seems too good to pass up and Nintendo doesn't fuck around, they deliver on promises, they're such a solid company when it comes to what they do. Think of the quality of the games that they make, I have full confidence in them. And I'm just a PS fanboy.

Revolution. I've loved the new experiences that the DS has led to, and I can't wait to see what Revolution offers. I love Metroid, Mario, and Zelda, and I know Miyamoto is going to blow my mind with what he does with the new controller.

you know its amazing the amount of corrupt politics thats behind these gaming systems. i think to a degree it is hurting consumers....if the 360 wouldve waited until after the xmas holiday to push their system out, maybe we'd actually ahve games aht utilize a fraction of what the 360 is capable of.

I chose revolution because im a diehard nintendo fan, and lets face it they are not going to let us down, besides the new gaming experiences are practically calling me...though i also have a 360 which i really love as well, but when it comes down to it, revolution will be my primary choice.

I just bought 360 friday and so far its pretty badass and i havent even gotten on live yet haha. got ghost recon and fight night.
