I need some new music in the vein of the following bands:

The Libertines
Babyshambles
Dirty Pretty Things
Peter Doherty
Arctic Monkeys
The Last Shadow Puppets
We Were Promised Jetpacks

Accents are preferred but optional (gotta love the UK), but this kind of music is what I'm listening to a lot and I want more than I have, so please recommend me some stuff.

The Wombats,
The Pigeon Detectives,
Kasabian,
Hard-Fi,
The Enemy,
Maximo Park,
The Coronas,
The Courteeners,
The View
The Young Knives...

Basically any band that starts with The... These bands wouldn't be my cup of tea but I'd say you might enjoy them.

I just am on a huge Libertines kick and needed more stuff in those veins.

Cool. Some of those guys should do the trick nicely. I hear the Libertines are talking about reforming actually. About time really... it is the thing to do lately.

Yeah. are you a fan of the Libs at all? They're quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.

If you dig Foals you'll like Grammatics and/or Post War Years. On the subject of The Libertines, Pete lives just outside my village. I feel like i've mentioned it way to much on this site, but thought it might interest you seeing as you're into his music.

The Fratellis and Kaiser Chiefs, maybe?

I like the first Fratellis album (well, the first half of it), and I have never listened to the Kaiser Chiefs. Where do I start?

The Kaiser Chiefs are insanely popular over here. Although i'm not really a fan, i'd probably start with their debut album Employment.

Will do. And your sweet brag about Pete is amazing. I love him and his coked-out antics.

I need some new music in the vein of the following bands:
Listen to The Maccabees: http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=861812

edit: I recommend reading through the thread and checking out the videos posted there, and the links. There's not many pages to read through at all.

Good call. I'm loving the myspace stuff and I'll watch the videos after work today.

Listen to me my friend. Go get Tv On the Radio's new album, "Dear Science". One of the best records I've heard in a LONG time. So much fucking soul.
