emerald and ruby weapon

these fuckers are damn near impossible to beat...

who has beaten them and how?

i barely have scratched ruby though with emerald i lasted until time ran out. help here...

I have never managed to beat Ruby, but Emerald is easy

First you need to get the Underwater Materia. Use Morph on the ghost ship in the Junon Underwater reactor tunnel, then trade the item to the desert trader for Underwater materia. Eliminates the time limit.

The you need final attack materias. you get those by beating the Battle Arena and then getting an invite to the special challenges (you need omnislash and the championship belt from regular), and run the course. do it maybe 4 or 5 times and you'll have a few final attack materias. link one to life, one to knights of the round and one to pheonix, and make sure they are all mastered. this way, when emerald uses tetra-elemental on you, you will ressurrect and harm him at the same time.

that's it. just keep hitting him until he dies. as long as you have final attack mastered, you can ress up to 5 times. it helps if you are around level 90 or so, and your summons should also be mastered. if you need the AP, level in the crater, the magic pots give good xp and the bouncing balls give great AP. EXP and AP plus materia help, as do AP modifier weapons.

Ill give you a hint for emerald. (of course the underwater materia is necessary)

his aire tam storm attack does 1111 damage per materia on each person, and if each of your three guys only have 2 materia

9999-2222 = crazy mother fucking 7's! all around

so just keep healing with mega-elixers on your guys until he uses that, and after your guys do 20 minutes of crazy 7 damage, a couple mimes and KOTRs kick his ass properly.

you can do it in under the time limit, easy. it just takes off some of the pressur,e especially if youre under lev 70 or so.

true, its not essential but some of the times when you battle him, you dont know how long its going to take him to use the attack, and then crazy 7's take a looong time, then mimed kotr's also take a while

so yeah you dont need it every time, but some battles with him just absolutely require some extra time

i havent totally beat ruby but its impossible unless you kill off two of your party members before going into battle. then he sticks his tail into the ground and only attacks with his tail,. which is hella weak.

i should try that

one of my friends can do it, ive seen him, but the fight lasted like an hour. kinda like fighting Angra Mainyu in X-2, just harder.

I never beat it though, I got to the final boss and i was only level 68. Didn't feel like grinding enough to finally beat it. Oh well.

i tried the strategy with ruby of killing off two people. it can still backfire cuz sometimes after you heal them he just does the move again and two people are gone.

ya i beat emerald, you just need that item that helps you stay under water forever. i came close to beating ruby but for some reason my knights of the round does not work in series when i use quadmagic and all the other materia that helps replicate attacks.
