Yea I personally feel embarrassed and I'm not even a baseball fan but baseball is supposed to be our national past-time and we are being DESTROYED.
haha, i just turned it on and it is 7-0, haha, we are missing some great pitchers (oswalt and halladay) but this still shouldn't be happening

that's bad, i don't understand rooting against your nation
but 7-0 in the 4th...this is awfulthere is a lot of reasons. i want baseball to get more popular in canada. it would be awesome if vancouver got a team but i dont think that will happen any time soon. i'm not a fan of the players on the u.s that much and my g.f is canadian. i wouldnt be mad if the u.s won though

Canada wins. Nice upset.
they came out stronger and played well enough at the end.
8-6 isn't nearly as bad as it started out, so i'm glad the US came back and showed life. nice game by canada though.

question for any of the canadians on the board: does anybody in canada actually care about this tournament, do you think this is going to be big news?
also, did anybody see nash at the end of the game? just seeing him in the stands made me laugh

TBH i sorta care about it but obviously not as much when its canada on a hockey stage. I like the Jays and attend many games each year. It'll be semi big news in Canada I guess, maybe not.

haha i missed nash but, yea i'll probably watch this tourney as long as canada is still in it. If they drop out early i probably couldn't care less after that. As for news - again, probably front page mention tomorrow, and if their winning continues, but when they drop out it wont even make front page sports section my guess.

If you go to www.tsn.ca they don't even put this victory as the main headline. They have the Oilers goaltending trade from earliar today.

I care because it is Canada at a world sporting event and I'm always happy to see us win, especially when we're underdogs.
However, I'll admit that I rarely, if ever, watch baseball and don't care too much about the sport. I love to play it, but it is terrible to watch.

Now its theodore, then roloson, then canada beating usa, haha.
And I agree on baseball being one of, if not the most boring sport to watch. Tennis and curling come to the top of my mind that beat it.

That would of been Adam Stern, and he looked FANTASTIC! Red Sox players are doing well in the WBC. Ortiz smacks two homers, Tek goes deep with all men on base, and Stern went 3-4, 4 RBI. See what he does in AAA and he might have himself a job next year.

I dont get it...?
the point about arod being on the team, so no win for usa is good. still, this sucked to watch. but also proved that in baseball, games can't be decided by one game. i mean, the devil rays frequently beat the red sox and yankees.
