The Fountain
Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem For A Dream) is directing, and the storyline looks great, too. "Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories..."
Southland Tales
From the writer and director of Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly. Major influnces are said to be: Pulp Fiction, Brazil and Dr. Strangelove. And to top it off, three graphic novels will be released before the movie. Then, the movie will tell the second half of the story started by the novels.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
I don't care what people say about how sequels are worse than the original. It's got the entire cast back again, and Johnny Depp does no wrong. That brings us to...
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Just read the summary: Johnny Depp portrays Elle France editor Jean-Dominique Bauby, who, in 1995 at the age of 43, suffered a stroke that paralyzed his entire body, save his left eye. Using that eye to blink out his memoir, Bauby eloquently described the aspects of his interior world, from the psychological torment of being trapped inside his body to his imagined stories from lands he'd only visited in his mind.
X-Men: The Last Stand (AKA X-Men 3)
Just watch the trailer.
Cars
It's Pixar. Honestly, have they ever made a bad movie? No.
Zodiac
Okay. It's directed by David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en) and it's about the Zodiac killer. If anyone saw Se7en, you know that Fincher has this genre down to an art.
2006 is going to rock. Thoughts?
Snakes on a PLane?
Thanks You For Smoking looks good
A Scanner Darkly
Boring Pop Song

Finding Nemo
Possibly their best.
It's Ellen DeGeneres. Therefore, it's comedic genius.

I agree with everything. Except for Pirates. I can't fucking stand that movie.

Finding Nemo is a Spongebob Squarepants rip off. Not to mention it forever shamed Little Nemo's good name. I find those two very serious offenses that I will never be able to forgive them for.

MI:3, V for Vandetta, Da Vinchi code should also be on that list. (Well, maybe not MI3)

First, the only thing it has in common with SpongeBob is the ocean.
And second, if anything harms SpongeBob in any way, it's a good thing. SpongeBob is quite possibly the worst television show ever conceived by mankind.

Philip Seymour Hoffman. Therefore it definitely should be on the list.
And even though I thought the book was lame and written for third graders, I do think DaVinci Code will be a kick ass movie.

MI:3 is directed by J.J. Abrams (Alias[!!!], Lost), so it might be good. The second one already started the series downhill, though.
V For Vendetta might be good.
And yeah, DaVinci Code will be great, but that's a given.

It rode the Spongebob wave. If Spongebob never existed Pixer would never have picked up the script.

I'm really looking forward to the Fountain, it's been intriguing for the YEARS it's been in production hell. It should be great. The preview looks fantastic too, however the Jackman movie I'm most looking forward too though (Besides maybe X3) is the Prestige. It's based off a novel by Christopher Priest who is a great writer, haven't read this book though, sounds incredibly intriguing, and it's directed by Christopher Nolan (Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins) and stars Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlet Johansson, Michael Caine and David Bowie. It's going to be awesome I know it. I choose it over the Fountain though because Aronofsky can get too visually...overdramatic sometimes and Nolan is generally a significantly better director in my opinion, not to mention the cast for the Prestige is absolutely stellar, not that the Fountain is anything to shake a stick at.

Not that there is a ton of them. Two feature length films in 8 years is not very productive.

DUDE. As soon as you possibly can, go rent or buy Pi. It's incredible.
I also just finished reading Requiem For A Dream, and I'm waiting for the movie to get here. The novel was incredible, and I've heard the movie is even better.

I would say neither are magnificent by any means. Conceptually great movies clouded by mediocre dialogue and writing in general. Arornofsky's a significantly better director than he is a writer, that's what hampers him. I don't really even like Pi, and I own Requiem but never watch it. It's a good, not great movie. Not to mention someone who signed up for an episode of Lost isn't exactly NOT trying to be mainstream, even if he did drop it to finish the Fountain. The reason why he hasn't made movies is because he's been busy with the Fountain, read IMDB. He's been working on it for about 5 years, with him not getting along with Brad Pitt originally being the reason it's not out today. I'm not trying to argue, I just think he's an incredibly overrated filmmaker.

I disagree. In my opinion, Pi is nothing short of perfect.
But, to each his own.

Not that I think this movie will suck. I'm quite excited for it.

Requiem for a Dream was much better than Pi, imo
but Pi was much better than most movies also
I highly recommend both to anyone, but Requiem is more accesible to Aronofsky's style, so if you intend on watching both, start with Requiem so that you'll be more ready for Pi
