View Full Version : Generic metalcore for the venturing guitarist.
Well, I'm a guitarist. I usually play punkier stuff, but I want to venture into metalcore. I just want to know some bands that would be good/fun to play along with.
So far I've been playing mostly TDWP... But I'm open to more suggestions.

Poison The Well - The Opposite Of December (their most "generic" album, but their later work is much better than all this modern day crap)

Ok, awesome. I've definitely know at least 50% of those bands. Looks like I've got some downloading to do

Did you look at the OLD Avenged Sevenfold stuff? Waking the Fallen is a pretty fun album to play.

i'm sure some of the following do not fall into the "metalcore" category, however, i find them essential:
All That Remains- The Fall of Ideals and This Darkened Heart
Darkest Hour- entire discography
Between the Buried and Me- entire discography
Century- Black Ocean
God Forbid- Gone Forever
In Flames- everything up until Soundtrack to Your Escape
Lamb of God- entire discography
...alright this list will go on forever. if you want some more suggestions hit me up with a message.

Well, I'm not a fan of Avenged Sevenfold, old or new, but that would definitely be some hard stuff to play.

Ah, well, I'm not necessarily looking for strictly metalcore. But, just stuff along the lines of it. Thanls for the recs.

As I Lay Dying is probably your best bet for generic metalcore
