Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is the worst one. Buying that game was the worst decision i've ever made.

I still think FFVII is the best of the series, if only for the story

The story makes 7 the best, but 9 is really awesome too. I liked X a lot too, because I thought the sphere grid was a really sweet way to level.

FF9 was amazing, If 7 had better graphics I think it would be a tie

i like both but 7 is better in my opinion.
i just hate materia, too much to choose from.

9 doesnt have any good characters...
actually steiner and that purple hair girl are just annoying
i didnt like zidane much either, he wasnt bad though

7... i actually only liked cloud and sephoroth [sp?]
the other characters sucked.

8 is the best

congrats, you are the only person in the world to think 8 is better than 7 or 9

8's story was complete shit, i hated the weapons/leveling/development system. the only good think about it was the card game, really.

part VII for the respect factor. it was a revolutionary game. i still thought 9 was incredible. im not as down on #8 as everyone else. i thought it was still really fun, despite a huge story lull.

ive played 8 a few times, when it strikes my fancy. In my opinion, its not that good. The heroes all have the same backstory, the world map is total shit, the story can be extremely weak at time (Laguna is easily the most interesting character), the junction system is the worst thing square has ever done and Squall is just an emo kid vying for attention.

on the plus side, 8 had a nice system for summons (if easily abused), nice summons themselves, nice art and FMV's, a brilliant soundtrack, some cool weapons and sweet side quests.

7 i have played the most- incredible villain, compelling story, detailed and intriguing characters, good music and incredible replay value.

9 is my favorite however. Aside from being a primer on existentialism, the story is very compelling, twists and turns constantly, always keeping you guessing. it was humorous and very lighthearted, there was excellent chemistry between the assorted characters. well worth playing more than once

Im pretty sure a consensus on the FF series (7 through 10) would be 7 > 9 > 10 >8

if a poll was taken by a large enough number of people

you know, thats the first thing most people bitch about when they talk about 10, and Im glad you pointed that out, because I thought the grid was an excellent way to keep materia familiar but new and exciting at the same time, and if anything, was probably one of the stronger aspects of the game as a whole.

lol, 7 would top, but there would be a lot more people saying VI is better than IX... for sure.

oh I know, but 7 was such a revolutionary game in the series that all of the games after it followed more in the footsteps of 7 than of the earlier games, imo

so Its really hard to compare 7 to the earlier games, and I wanted to only compare it to the ones made after it
