either travis or joey from Slipknot. he has some sweet double bass action.

using double-bass is about the single most obnoxious thing a drummer can do, imho.

i use double bass... what's obnoxious about it? if you want some seriously fast, steady bass stuff, double bass is the way to go..

out of those, i picked Branden of The Used... however, my favorite drummer of all time would HAVE to be Danny Carey from Tool... that dude has some AMAZING double bass chops... he can play just as fast or faster with his feet than i can with my hands, and its all steady... just amazing...

double bass should only be used for hardcore. anyone that uses it to play punk just sucks.

if you want to hear some fast double bass, listen to this band called Origin. http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/143/origin_relapse_records.html

i dissagree.. i like the way the finch guy uses his douible kick.. gives a good solid foundation to the music.. it can be overused tho.. but its also sweet when used properly.. i dont use one, but the USed sounds great with the double kcik fills

i just find really fast constant bass pedal to be stupid. there isn't the variation possible as with a snare. its just like a constant beat really fast and thats not very musical to me. its more like a machine or something. thrice is one of the few bands ive listened to who sometimes use it where i like it. they use it sparingly, but it works when they do. FATA is IMO the worst offender in terms of overuse. they play the thing to death and i cant stand it.

bill ward (black sabbath) or the dude from rkl.

out of those, Travis is the most talented, but I like Finch's music better, so Alex gets my vote. And by the way, I'll now use my experience from 3 years ago when I was obsessed with Slipknot, and tell you the Clown uses the custom kit(with the beer kegs and steel shit) along with the Nose dude. Joey(Kabuki mask) plays the standard kit with the double kick. Joey is also quite talented. But you forgot Josh Freese of The Vandals(and also the mystery drummer on Good Charlotte's new CD). He is by far the best drummer out there.

you have GOT to be kidding.. you really really have got to be kidding...

he plays some of THE easiest patterns out there.. don't need the tabs... listen 1-2 times and you got it... i swear... If you are a drummer yourself and find him the best drummer out there, you are insane... if you aren't a drummer and want to hear real drumming talent, check out Danny Carey from Tool... that's a really good drummer right there...

and btw, Travis Barker is a pretty good drummer, but he's overrated... in my opinion anyway... i like the music and he fits it well, but i think he could expand/show more of his true talent in a more drum oriented band...but that's just me...

p.s.: i used to wanna be just like barker... then i heard Danny, and now i find that i agree with a vast majority of drummers who say barker is overrated... if ya know anything about what real saxophonists think of Kenny G, well.. barker is like the Kenny G of drumming.. famous, decent, & OVERRATED!

If you want Travis in a more drum -based band, listen to Boxcar. Every song has at least one point where its just him playing.

good point.. but i mean more like.. i dunno.. just something off simple snare drum/sixteenth notes w/ accents or regular beats... something original and different... i don't know... he's just not my favorite drummer...
