Sing Like Nate Barcelow

I play rythm guitar and do vocals in a hardcore band, but I can't fucking scream! I'd like to sing like Finch vocalist Nate Barcelow does; do this mixture of screaming and singing huge melodies... How can I learn that? Maybe some advanced vocalists/screamers around here can give me some advice, which techniques to apply to educate the voice (I myself got a quite deep voice).

everyday when you wake up..
sing from as low as u can to as high as you can over and over..
sing all day
sing loud
practise
and scream at your friends or whenever its suitable. just practise

you have to be passionate, thats all i can say. just put all your emotion into whats coming out of your mouth.

I can do it, but that's cuz I worked under the best music teacher in the area for a while at my all-guys school chorus. w00t! I actually loved that class, it helped me so much.

I scream pretty fucking well. My drive to and fro school is like thirty minutes, so on the way I just put in something with some screams (finch is good, especially untitled) and scream like hell. I look like an idiot but it's kinda good, helps ya when ya had a shitty day. I scream real well now. The only problem is I play drums...

i play in a punk rock band. its easy cause we sound like NOFX, and mike burkett is not a very harmonic singer if you know what i mean....

I know what you mean :) My voice is sure suitable for punk rock, but not for screamo, harcore stuff, however you wanna call it.

We sounded like that once. We had a different bassist and singer. The singer, Dave, tried to be all nasally and we kinda sounded like NoFX. then we made a new band and excluded the bassist, because he was a skinny little fucker who was a control freak. And we also got rid of the singer, because I wrote the lyrics and hearing Dave sing them so shittily bothered me. I kinda thing most bassists have a control complex, most of the guys I know who play bass are total dicks...

Dude I have been a bass player and then I switched to guitar and see I'm not a dick anymore! You're totally rite, all bassists are dicks, it has to do something with the instrument, maybe it's got a bane or shit...
