I need to some recording, and it's too much of a hassle (and because of noise issues) to mike my acoustic guitar.

I want to get something that sounds nice to play acoustic, but I can also plug into an amp or a mixer.

15/16 size would be ideal

Is price an issue?

I have one of these, it's reeeallly nice. Affordable too considering it's a martin. Sounds good plugged in direct.

NO! Stay away from the Martin X-series. You're paying for the name; it's got a solid top, but the back and sides are laminate, and painted over. You can get this type of guitar for much cheaper, or you can get a better guitar for the money.

What's your budget? I'd look into Seagull or Takamine, unless you're planning on spending $1000+

Do what? Oh, I obviously didn't look up the guitar much. I know the one I have looks like that though, but it isn't part of the X series. I'll have to figure out what model I have, it's the real deal as far as I know.

But yeah, both Seagull and Takamine guitars are awesome.

find a guitar center employee that will hook it up with a discount and get a breedlove

This is the one I have- http://www.guitarcenter.com/Martin-000CX1E-Custom-Solid-Top-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar-103037842-i1171395.gc

It's still an X series, I never knew that. I always thought mine was all wood, and I've had it for like 2 years. haha
But oh well, it really does sound nice!

I re-phrased, because technically it is "wood", but if you actually look at what it is, it's basically splinters pressed together. It's not pretty. I read somewhere that it's grey underneath - but I wouldn't recommend taking the paint off!

I'm sure it does sound pretty good, but you can get much nicer laminate-back-and-sides guitars for the money. Seagull makes a REALLY NICE laminate on their guitars that aren't all solid. It's three pieces: Wild Cherry on Mahogany on Wild Cherry. So that laminate will sound a lot better than the Martin's, and the guitars that have it will be cheaper. I want to say that the solid top you'll be getting will be better quality than a lower Martin, too, but that's just speculation on my part.

Eh. I've never been a huge Breedlove fan. It doesn't feel right to me. BUT that's why I should have said earlier: TRY OUT GUITARS FOR YOURSELF! We can't tell you what's right FOR YOU.

Go to Guitar Center, sit down, and play everything they have. Find out what you like. They don't get mad; they'll let you play all day. Just don't buy anything without coming to ask us first, and don't let an employee convince you. Make sure you check in.

What do you guys think about the 15/16 size?

I was stabbed in my fretting hand, and I've never really recovered full strength so I kind of need something slightly smaller (sadly). I don't know much about them, as I've only played friends'.. are they more expensive/hard to find?

I don't really know much about them... sorry. I'll try and do some research though.

I'm not entirely sure if it meets your size criterion, but as a bonus, the neck is many times more manageable than the average acoustic neck. This is my go-to guitar, unplugged or plugged.
