This was to important to put in the entertaiment forum, sorry to those who are offended.

Anyways, tonight I saw "The Hills Have Eyes." Before I start here's the plot, for those of you who don't know.

Between the years of 1945-1962 The government kicked a village out of their homes, to set up a test station for their bombs. These people didn't know what to do, so they went into the mine shafts. They dropped the bombs on test towns and said that there would be so side effects to any who felt the reaction. Well there was, and now people got morphed into mutants.

This movie was slow at first, but when you see it, believe me it picks up REALLY fast. It's not that scary, but it has a lot of jumpy parts in it. If you like twisted and morbid movies this one is for you. Without giving away to much gorey details. This movie features a badass named "Doug" who really turns out to be "the man" in this movie. He isn't a mutant, he's just a normal person in the movie. Biting heads off of birds, isn't the only thing morbid about this flick. Flames and people eating make this a must see.

So without anymore spoilers, go see it, and post your opinion about it here.

Yeah...eight dollars for a movie.

Heh.

I haven't really seen anything twisted over the past couple years except for both Saw movies. They really didn't do anything for me. And I thought this was just as twisted, just in different ways.

i thought it was dumb

i dunno

im glad i got in for free. it was just one fucked up thing followed by another. i mean i guess if you just want to see people shooting their head off and seeing it.... seeing fingers get cut off... see a guy getting burned alive and basically just fucked stuff then this is for you. but if you are looking for a good plot. dont see this movie. you barely remember the plot. all you remember is the messed up stuff.

People are complaining horror films are all the same now and are boring blah blah. I thought that brought some excitement to the film and made you really want to root for the family. I thought when the dude starting drinking her breast milk was alot more disturbing haha.

i'm a huge fan of horror movies with massive amounts of gore and brutality, so in those respects it was pretty entertaining. any movies that arent afraid to show the pointed edge of a pick axe being bludgoned into someones skull is worth watching. for a re-make, it wasn't terrible, however i would rather watch house of 1000 corpses.

man i cant belive people didnt like it....seriously it is probably the best horror movie in a little while. I think the horror genre is picking in up....but not in a way that the american public will enjoy it. More movie and horror buffs will enjoy the recent flick. Wolf Creek was fucking awesome. Hostel was great. Cabin Fever was probably the best horror movie in a long time. The Hills Have Eyes was fun as hell, and some of the shots were awesome. High Tension though extremely dissapointing, was fun until the very end when Aja ruins it. But Eli Roth, Alexander Aja, and Greg McLean have boosted the recent horror movie slump over the past 3 years with these films. I think Eli Roth is the most talented, kind of has this Tarantino "tribute" vibe about his movies. And he is absolutely praised by so many directors including Tarantino and Peter Jackson themselves. But these 5, if you want to include High Tension, have definately been a spike in the horror movie genre. I dont include Shymalan in this because he is more psychological suspense thriller.

Wes Cravens Red Eye was sweet as well, but more suspense than anything.

found this on imdb:

(I made a new thread becuase the other was long and a bit out of hand)

But here you go people. I watched the Unrated and Rated versions at the exact same time so i could notice all of the differences. Yes i am that big of a dork...

*There are a few more shots of the 2nd to last radiation guy being slammed into the rocks by a very visible Pluto.

*Maybe two or three seconds more of the Gas Station guy blowing his head off.

*About a 5 second shot of Big Bob's hand and wrist (tied) burning away and then a close up on his face a neck, where his eyes turn white and his skin is starting to burn away on the side.

*A longer shot of Lizard pouring the bird's blood into his mouth and onto his face. (about 6 seconds longer)

*Another quick shot of Lizard hitting Pluto with the gun. (about 4 seconds)

*A few extra seconds of the pillow fight.

*A tiny bit longer of Brenda getting hit and then her finger in the blinds of the window. There were also some minor shots switched around. Nothing important, but some were reversed. (about 5 seconds)

*A point of view shot of the gun being pointed at the baby's face and another shot of Lynn's reaction. (about 6 seconds)

*A slight above shot of the gun being pointed right at Lynn's forehead and then her being shot. Also there is one more quick shot of blood splattering, and her falling to the floor. Here the shots were switched a bit also. Instead of first seeing the baby's mobile with blood on it and then Brenda screaming, they are switched. (about 3 seconds without factoring in the switched shots)

*Maybe a second or more extra of the shot with Doug's fingers being chopped off.

*A shot that is below Pluto's head looking up after Doug slams the ax in his head, where little pieces fall down towards the camera. And about a second more of a shot right before he pulls it out.

*About 6 more seconds of Doug grinding the ax into the Cyst's back. And then the infamous close-up onto the eye.

*An extra bit when Jupiter is eating the mother's heart. Right before he notices Bobby, he takes another bit or two and then looks at him.

*When Doug swings and hits Lizard with the shotgun, there is a shot of Doug slowly walking over towards him. Then he hits him 5 times instead of 3.

*Doug shoots Lizard 3 times with the shotgun. The first shot is to his stomach, the second shot is to his neck which spurts a bit, and the third is to his left shoulder.

I saw it when it first came out in theaters, and I really wasn't that scared. It had it's moments of "Ohhhhh, sick!" but horror movies don't really get to me. The thing that bothered me most was the dog. But I still went out to eat afterward, haha.

I was thinking of picking up the DVD but I'm poor and not sure if I would watch it enough to make purchasing it worth it.
