Saw them with Manchester Orchestra awhile ago. Definitely excited for this as I was a big fan of the Format and I love the Jellyfish influence in the songs. Favorite so far is Walking the Dog.
Seen them with Jack's Mannequin. Can't wait for the new CD.
I love the three songs I've heard, I hope the rest is as good. I remember when Benson Hedges was supposed to be a Format song. :-(
One of my most anticipated this year. I can't wait. Everything Nate Ruess touches turns to gold.

just got an e-mail from them saying they'll be releasing another single (All The Pretty Girls) on 8/4. i'm trying not to overplay Walking The Dog before the album comes out, but i can't help myself. it's so good.
I've had At Least I'm Not as Sad and Walking the Dog on repeat all day. So good. and Amazon has the single listed but you can't get it until August something. Probably the 4th, like someone said.
When is the album released?

same here, the record is nice too. They have another pre-order where it's $8 for an autographed CD. Not too much to add on if you want it, too.

Yes. I went in thinking I'd absolutely hate them, according to some of the stuff I read in the tour thread. But I loved every bit of it. Audrye Sessions, them, and MO all but on awesome shows that night.

yeah, it was kind of an odd tour for them to be on, so i can see how fans of MO who didn't know what they were about would have been surprised or even turned off by their sound. but i thought they were excellent.
Probably goin' to see them in September. I never saw the Format, I had time to but I never thought they'd break up so suddenly.

"It was the winter of '86, and all the fields had frozen over.
So we moved to Arizona to save our only son
and now he's turning to a man, although he thinks just like his mother,
he believes we're all just lovers he sees hope in everyone.
And even though she moved away,
we always get calls from our daughter.
She has eyes just like her father's
they are blue when skies are grey
And just like him, she never stops,
Never takes the day for granted,
works for everything that's handed to her,
Never once complains.
You think that I nearly lost you
When the doctors tried to take you away.
But like the night you took my hand beside the fire
30 years ago to this day
You swore you'd be here 'til we decide that it's our time
Well it's not time, you've never quit in all your life.
So just take my hand, you know that I'll never leave your side.
You're the love of my life, you know that I'll never leave your side."

I have a random question... you know when in live performances (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDNTY5nI_88), Nate sometimes says that "it's hard to these keys on the spot"? Listened to it when it first came down, then I put it down for a while once I become immersed in Beggars and Daisy. Picked it up again a few weeks ago and fell in love with it. Always loved the Format, but love the Beach Boys/Queen feel of fun.

haha Beach Boys and Queen both influenced The Format which you can kind of hear within their music, not many bands sound like fun. and The Format

So in love with this album. Can't remember the last time I loved an album like I do this one. Every time I think I've got the whole thing down, something comes out of nowhere and surprises me.

"At Least I'm Not As Sad" is especially Mika-esque.

Does anyone know of a place to get the writing credits for the album? I don't have a hard copy and I'm curious what's solely Nate and what might have had some help from the other guys.

Not me. The moment the whole band came in in "Be Calm" i was fucking sold, haha.
The first 2:30 weren't that enjoyable first time though...
I loved it starting from "I don't remember much that night..."

Crap, did not realise they were touring the UK. They're playing on May 30th in my hometown but there's no way of getting back at this short notice. I'm so stupid for not realising.

Saw them in Portland a few nights ago. "What The Fuck" sounds pretty good, I like the little bridge section. Really just a great concert overall, the band was excellent and Steel Train continues to be one of my favorite live acts. Dog Problems in the set was an awesome surprise.

hoping to see them with Steel Train in December. seems like it'd be a killer show.
Good news for people living in CA. Not only are they playing Coachella, but they have shows at Pomona and SF the week after. I predict that they'll debut a lot of new stuff at these shows

it's amazing to see how popular this band has gotten.
i've had the pleasure of seeing them a few times and each time was on a completely different level.
1. saw them open for manchester orchestra in philly a few years back, before Aim and Ignite was released. (I think they played a few The Format songs too)
2. saw them open for Taking Back Sunday and Anberlin in PA at Croc Rock
3. Saw them headline in NYC at Webster Hall to a sell out crowd singing and dancing along. Absolutely amazing to see it all come full circle.
hoping to catch them in NYC on the tour this summer.

I'm not a big fan so I might be wrong, but wasn't the mix on Conan terrible? Barely any guitar or keyboards, or backing vocals. Bass, drums and vocals were stellar though, great band.
