my history teacher proclaimed in class yesterday that communism is a good thing. that it's just the dictatorship part of it that's bad. i truly pity my fellow classmates who will absorb anything he says. then again he also made fun of strom thurmund, (sorry bout the spelling) a 100 year old man, for falling asleep at his birthday party, and called him 'a really weird dude.' then he went on to say that everyone that lives in Texas are a bunch of blithering idiots and that's the only reason a person like George W. Bush ever got to be president. THEN a kid in class said that killing George Bush would definately have many benefits and my teacher agreed with him. isn't it like, against the law to threaten the president? and couldn't that be considered a threat?

communism is a good idea but it can never work because political leaders are ALWAYS corrupt.
Strop Thurmund is a racist biggot, and deserves to be made fun of, and probably should have been dead and in hell (if it existed) a long time ago
But yes the assumption of texas was wrong and threatening the president is supposedly a crime, but it doesn't sound like the threatened him, just merely pointed out the FACT that the world would be a much better place without him.

yea i think i would probably get in trouble for that too. and strom thurmond used to be racist. when he was part of the DEMOCRATIC party. then he switched over to the republican party. he was one of the first senators ever to hire black people and he was one of the first people ever to put his white kids into an integrated school. and why do you think it's your place to judge who goes to hell?

There were two different types of democrats in those days Northern and Southern. He was a Southern Democrat and was obviously right wing. Besides, that was brought up again because the republican senate majority leader decided to bring it up. A senator from West Virginia, robert byrd I believe, is a former kkk member. And I'm not talking about hell you bastard, I don't even believe in your hell. When I say burn I mean suffer for something. Not necessarily go to hell. I wouldn't wish something that bad upon him anyway, because he did "make up" for his ignorance by hiring blacks on to his staff. But I'm confident he'll get his in the end. They all will.

Just because they didn't believe in the same racial equality as the northern democrates, that doesn't mean they were conservative, they were still FDR followers, and voted acordingly.
