Of the recent horror/gorry movie that has come out what is your favorite....i dont mean like any regular horror movie. I think these 6 films are a little different than your shitty House of Wax reemake or a Shymalan film.

devils rejects wasn't really a horror movie, it was just a follow up of a cult movie

i havent seen the The Hills Have Eyes remake
but it seemed like it could finally be a good modern remake

LOOK OUT
for the remake of Black Christmas that will be coming soon
it seems that this will be the first great remake of the past few years

Cabin Fever is actually probably my favorite up there haha.

not that it matters at all but Cabin Fever actually got the most favorable reviews of all of those movies. The reviews were actually pretty positive. But that really means nothing. I like it alot.

Cabin Fever is an insane black comedy. I don't think a lot of people "got it".

Seriously

i'm not sure if i would consider saw a "slasher" movie. it's more of a suspense, plus it has a plot. high tension was hilariously bad. i loved the part when the dude is getting a bj from a severed head... good family entertainment.

out of all of those, i choose hostel.

i went with the hills have eyes only because i've heard it was a decent movie despite the fact i actually haven't seen it (and i probably won't either). and for those who voted for wolf creek: you can't be serious?

Out of that list, Definatley Wolf Creek, I thought it was a great film, didnt really get much coverage over here in the press or anything, went sort of un-noticed actually, but It was a quality film.

Cabin Fever was a terrible film.

High Tension gets my vote. I would probably order them

1.High Tension
2.The Hills Have Eyes
3. The Devils Rejects
4. Hostel
5. Cabin Fever
6. Wolf Creek

The Hills Have Eyes, although I did enjoy Hostel unlike most people.

the hills have eyes was a pretty good remake. the craven original is better. hostel was mediocre, haute tension was alright but the end has to piss you off. cabin fever was lame. hopefully the remake of Black Christmas will get people into the older slasher films. the best movies all come from the 70's and 80's, and a vast majority of the good ones are foreign. the exploitation films like I Spit on Your Grave and Last House on the Left are some of the best horror movies ever made. Land of the Dead was the best horror movie last year by light years. No movie series has been ripped off as much as Romero's dead series

devil's rejects was awesome...i like to see alot of depravity in my horror movies...not some pale japanese kid trying to create a 'spooky atmosphere'

Cabin Fever was fucking genius...no joke. I can understand how people don't "get" it, but I don't understand how they can say that and then praise Wolf Creek.

But someone did make a good point on the first page, 28 Days Later should be on this list...the list in general doesn't really seem to work...the remake shouldn't be on there...and if it's a "slasher" list, Cabin Fever def shouldn't be on there since the "slasher" antagonist isn't even a fucking human...it's a virus if you follow the idea of a "slasher" movie.

how is it an insane black comedy? like can you point out some things that happen in the movie that prove its a black comedy so the next time i see it i can finally get it.

Out of those I've only seen Hostel, and I loved it. I love weed, girls, horror films, and I want to go to AMSTERDAM, so I loved Hostel for what it was. I still want to see Hills and Devil's Rejects. Also, why aren't the Saw movies on there? Those are 2 of my favs easily.

The only one of these I've seen is "The Hills Have Eyes", but it was horrible. It was overly violent and unnessesaraly (SP?) gory and violent. There wasn't much of a plot. Hostel looks good, but so did the hills have eyes so i dunno. I'd say Saw/Saw II gets my vote, even though i can't pick them

I thought all of these movies sucked about equally, so I chose the best of the group, the Devil's Rejects just because I found some humor in it.

first saw is the best
but hills have eyes wins out of these choices.

i hated devils rejects i fucking hatttttttttted it haha. my girlfriend at the time thought it was so funny how they were killing and shit and then its time for them to die and they act all like cowards end up living through that shit and then just get shot down by cops. what the hell. fuck that. and if i spoiled the movie just thank me cause youd be glad you didnt waste your time on it
IMO

Most of these aren't close to slasher, but The Devils Rejects is easily the best horror film of the last 5 years, at least.

the devil's rejects is easily one of the two worse movies i have ever seen. so bad.

you are ignorant, uninformed, and in all likelihood unintelligent. take it from a screenwriter, devil's rejects is the future of horror. rob zombie was able to intensify every single detail from the editing to the cinematography, the acting, the story. everything was completely extreme, and the pieces came together flawlessly. i'm not even really a fan of horror, but that is a goddamn good movie.
