Apparently we shouldn't talk about the books there, because of spoilers etc.

People were asked to create anew thread when those discussing the books started posting spoilers from them

Never read the books. Are they any better than the show? The show is pretty fucking good.

The show sucks, the books are not all that bad.

I'll be a happy man when this vampire romance/fantasy fad dies.

I'm a vampire junkie, I can't deny myself all the vamp sex the show has to offer.

I prefer the books to the show.
And there is just as much vamp sex.

it's been going on for a long time, but twilight brought it back in the most annoying way. i've always liked vampire stuff, but seriously i would expect vampires to be pale and weak and ugly cause they're supposed to be centuries old. like nosferatu's or something.

i like the books because there is a lot less storyline with tara and jason, which i find annoying in the show. Not as much vamp sex in the first 4 books, as in the show, it's not described that much but i loved the scene in book 4 shower scene with eric and sookie

It really annoys me the way they're like inventing all these story lines with Maryann and Jason and Tara, because there's just no point in it. And I know this is harsh, cause we all love Lafayette, but he was supposed to die....
I think it's great when Eric and Sookie get together without his memory :)

I totally agree. Sam isn't supposed to be hooking up with all those people either, bugs me so much.

Oh I know, I love Sam! I just don't get the point in inventing Daphne ettc and expanding the Maryann character and creating this whole Jason-FOTS thing.
But not as much as Alcide.

Hmm I was wondering about that. The place I get mine online had like 8.5 and stuff that i thought were unofficial fan fics, lol.

What do people think of the short stories with Sookie in?
I've only read Fairy Dust and One Word Answer so far, but both of them are related to stuff that's in the novels (especially One Word Answer), so I think that it would be better if they were just part of the novels...
The "Sookie-universe stories without the character of Sookie" ones are probably much better for short story collections.

I haven't bothered reading them and was wondering if they are even worth checking out. Once I finish reading the books then I'll proabably read them
Well the first one relates to info in the later on stories... Tells of how Claude and Claudine's triplet is murdered.
The second one is how Sookie gets informed of Hadley's death etc.
