Oblivion...except that's not out yet and it's only on PC and Xbox and I know you're a Nintendo dude, so just completely ignore this post. :D

my roommate last semester played Shadow of the Colossus for like 3 weeks straight.. he seemed to enjoy it alot...so i voted for that

Tough choice..I hear that all of thoese games are good, but I voted for Grandia 3. I suggest to play Grandia only if you are familiar with the series. I mean the game is good and all but I think you would appreciate it more if you played the previous ones.

I finished Shadow of the Colossus relatively quick and I was playing it for about an hour a day.

Onimusha and Age of Empires..I heard that they are both good by word of mouth. I got Onimusha but I haven't tried it yet since I only got the first disc and I'm playin Tales of Legendia now.

The thing is with Shadow is that it's more a piece of art than a game, in my opinion. The gameplay itself is repetative and there's not much to it and the controls and camera angles are somewhat clunky, but the storyline effects you emotionally and the graphics and art direction is superb.
