Lots here say it's overrated, lots here love it.

I for one LOVE IT, not to mention the killer Lux Aeterna song.

I think the book was better, but the film is one of two movies that made my cry.

Comparing the book and the movie is apples and oranges. Two completely different mediums, and usually two completely different artists. (Hubert Selby Jr. co-wrote the screenplay, but it WAS Aronofsky's film.) Some may prefer the book, some may prefer the film, but in reality, they should be considered as two separate entities.

That said, I haven't read the book, but I absolutely love the film.

one of my top favorite movies ever, top 10 and I watch a ton of movies. (damn you college downloading + boredom)

I havent read the book

but I watched the movie before I knew there was a book, and I hate reading books after movies, only before

Yeah I won't lie. I cried at the end of that movie. It was incredible on all counts.

not read it but i watched the movie again last night after discovering jared leto had got all fat.

it's definitely amazing. probably my favourite movie. not just for the content but the way it's shot; it's ace.
