i was lucky enough to attend the first stop
of the first Thursday tour in a year and a half

and it was breathtaking, in more ways than one

there were tons of techincal difficulties surrounding minus the bears set, yet they still managed to sound great. the drummer even ended up flicking off the sound guy (they were all very angry)

and thursday - wow.
geoff had/has bronchitis, and at the very beggining of the set announced that even though he has it, he will still continue to do the full tour, because he would never cancel on "us"
what a great guy
you can tell he struggled a few times, but what an amazing show
the interaction with the crowd was some of the best ive ever seen
there wasnt even really a need for him to sing, the audience was practically taking care of it for him

in the background during their set, there looked to be three images that were covered with black cloth before they were playing.
right as they started, they unveiled what was behind it - what seemed to be the theme of their new album. im guessing part/most of the album cover?
the main image was all black and white, and it was of a man standing shilouette/profiled in what appeared to be a trenchcoat/business suit holding the tip of his hat. on the bottom was a white picket fence, and the rest was all black buildings surrounded by the white sky
it was great, and fit the band perfectly

i think they played about 4 new songs, but i could be mistaken and it mightve been only 3.
they were all VERY good though, and for those upset about the new single not being "thursday" enough, the new songs they played would have reassured you that the new albums going to be aweome.

sorry if this whole post is scatterbrained and jambled, i jsut got home and im absolutely beat, about to go to bed.
