What, in your opinion are the greates solos for guitar, bass, and drums and what songs are they from? Then include the best overall band as a whole song.
In my opinion:
Guitar : eruption - Van Halen
Bass: Maxwell Murder - Rancid
drums: Buddy Rich - Channel One Suite
band : Bohemian Rhapsody

No it's not impossible ....
You people haven't heard jazz musicians have you ... They fucking piss all over these so called 'best solos'
I like punk/emo etc etc , but most of the instruments are played badly.

dude, check out victor wooten, go to kazaa and download some of his bass solos, he's fucking amazing- and notice i didn't list one punk song, cuz yea, there are very few talented punk bands.
chris flippin guitar solo on stokin the neighbors(he's from lagwagon).
Randy Rhoads solo in Bark at the Moon
Kirk Hammet in One or any other song

This might surprise you but Free Bird isn't all that hard to play. It's like five notes and once you get the movements down it takes about a week to perfect.
My pick for guitar: (Tie) Led Zeppelin-Communication Breakdown & Stairway to Heaven

drums - chad sexton "applied science"
guitar - last perfect thing "hawaii"
lynard skynards freebird may not be able to play but it kicks ass
the solo in dancing through sunday by afi has an 80's hair metal sound to it but i think its awesome and it sounds hard as hell and probably is.. but punk isnt the best guitar players... jazz and blues guitars is like 100 skill levels above punk and just their verses are harder than abou 90% of punk solos

dude. mark sucks at bass. period. all of their songs are so simplistic and basically the easiest things ever to play. blink songs were the first songs i learned when i first started playing bass. i could probably murder mark in a bass play-off. hes that horrible.
Drum Solo - When The Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin: In the beginning of the song, it's only the drums playing and they sound fucking amazing. this is because when they recorded this song, every fucking instrument was recorded in a seperate room of this huge cathedral type mansion with high ceillings. the drums were recorded in a hallway and thats how they got the echoed effect. fucking amazing song.
i think basically Led Zeppelin has all the best solos. period. they=such talented musicians. thread over.
