Majority of those bands are awesome, but the idea of seeing Jeremy Enigk from Sunny Day seals it for me. If I'm not touring, I'll be there.
Any word on the Smashing Pumpkins showing up?

I cannot understand why Matisyahu is popular. He's a bigger gimmick than Panic at the Disco is.

Considering I paid $65 to see the Chilis three years ago, $130 is a steal to see:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Wilco
Death Cab For Cutie
Queens of the Stone Age
The Shins
Ryan Adams
The New Pornographers
Iron & Wine
Coheed And Cambria
The Smoking Popes
Stars
Cursive
Nada Surf
Sparta
Of Montreal
The New Amsterdams

manu chao. haha.
Kanye West. Horrible rapper.
I guess this pretty much confirms that terrible news that the two would be touring through the end of summer. Bamboozle kills this, though there are a lot of great bands here.

the way it's set up, though, sometimes really good bands are paired opposite each other...at least that's how it was last year. and some of the set times don't make sense (ie, pixies before weezer, giving weezer the headlining position. i don't know about all that). but it's a good time.

20 bucks says im the not only one but.
Is anybody else just slightly annoyed that lollapalooza takes place the same weekend as Wizard World Chicago, the biggest and most important comic book convention of the year?
::crickets chrip:: dammit! im out 20 bucks..

Damn, that kinda does suck. I'm not a huge comic fan, but I'm into video games and other nerdy things.

I really like Matisyahu. His music is really chill and relaxing. I'll admit he's only selling so much cuz of his gimmick, but as far as I'm concerned - as long as the music is good, I'll listen.
I'm not a fan of Panic though. I just can't seem to get into their stuff. Nothing too original in my mind. Same stuff we've all heard before. But of course - to each his own.

You'd think they learned thier lesson last year when they had it the same weekend as Warped Tour. I love the fact it seems like Chicago, we're getting our own SXSW but the scheduling staff needs to do better research.
oh! and comics and video games = teh muthafuckin go0dness!

Wiz World was fuckin gnarly last year. the after party was even better though. I met Brian Michael Bendis. He hung out for awhile with us and I got him to sign a issue of Daredevil. It was pretty rad.

I was volunteering so I wouldn't have to pay to get in. It was cool cause me and some friends did it. I met MC Chris, Mitch Clem (www.nothingnice.com), the guy who does Theater Hopper, Space Ghost (well, his voice), got a free PSP game, a bunch of other cool little things.

Aww man. It kills me to see these bands listed - especially BSS, Stars and Feist. The three of them are absolutely incredible live.
Still though, no way I'm paying $130+ to stand outside in August and battle crowds.

He has been doing it for AWHILE... Panic got big within 5 monts of being a band. If you dont know what your talking about dont talk. Oh hows this for a gimmick, he wont play Northeastern on saturday because he its shabbish. Oh yeah total gimmick.
Anyways, he has talent, Panic not so much. Have you seen them live?! haha they look like shitty robots who dont know how to play their instruments.
God your just haing on him because its the new thing to do.

A gimmick doesn't have to be something that is fake.
The guy is an orthadox jew, which is pretty rare and a rapping orthadox jew which is rarer. he's popular based on him having some "talent" and because of his unusually image, which no one accused of being fake.

i bought my 3-Day Pass today.
they are still yet to announce 50+ more bands.
i'm pretty sure they have some other big names up thier sleeves that they are holding out on us.
i REALLY hope it's the Pumpkins.
i cant wait.
i am going to try to go...if i can come up w/ a few hundred dollars by the time tickets sell out. Blue October + Death Cab + The New Amsterdams is enough reason for me.

TOtally, I just got back from FedEx. They look so sweet and it came with a Lollapolooza tee. Now I'm not as mad about paying that $10 service charge and $12 shipping.

haha i just told my mom about this and she got kind of excited and said she would go. she loooooves of montreal, especially live, she likes death cab, and she really wants to see stars live sometime and is interested in seeing broken social scene and feist.
not that we'll actually go, but man, my mom is so awesome with music. if arcade fire was playing again there's no doubt she'd have given me her credit card immediately and had me order tickets for both of us.
