I just read an article that had such an anti-American spin that it was unbearable. This is what the Muslim world listens to every day. It's no suprise they don't trust America with lies like these going around.
Read the article here. (http://www.arabnews.com/Article.asp?ID=24439)

Maybe the reason they hate us (westerners) can be traced back to the countless wars we've waged aginst them.

Would direct me to the un-bias north american press? I'd be quite interested in seeing it.

What do you consider unbias? But we unlike them, have the ability to get both views on an issue, they do not and thats a fact.

this is from that same site, and it is pretty unbiased. The site also has several unbiased cartoons, poking fun at both Iraq/Saddam and America/Bush

This source my not be too bad, but the news sources that the majority of Arabs are exposed to, like Abu Dabi(sp?), the Iraqi news agency, or many other state-run medias, are nothing more than anti-western propogana machines.

the Arab Times--- from Kuwait - i used to read that when i lived there- it wasn't too bad
Arab News-- I read an editorial that stated that everytime you eat a hamburger from McDonald's-- you are eating Palestinan BLOOD. Not so good source...haha

Truth is- there isn't a biased news source out there- they all are- however- there are some that are less biased than others. BBC's pretty good... Sky's okay... CNN's not bad - ABC is crap- NBC is a crappier version of CNN- and I never turn on FOX- I am republican yes- but I've never liked FOX.
If you go around saying "everything is lies lies lies- they are all so biased its lies!" is stupid because that reasoning brings you to the conclusion that all News lies to you..
For an example...
NPR (liberal) says
"today in San Fran, LA, NYC and Washington thousands of anti-war protesters gathered to protest the War in Iraq saying slogans like "no blood for oil" and "fire bush" ... also today many pro-war protesters supported war."
Its not the information that is "Lies" its the way they present it- they leave things out- or just touch some information about the other side of the story that they do not agree on.

How can a site called "Arabnews" not be bias, that would be like calling the Aryan times unbias or BET unbias.

the fact that it lines up with your views the most does not make it any less bias. fox news is owned by rupert merdock who is very conservative and his channel reflects that. all of our news channels are bias.

The thing is that in America we have so many different options to choose from that we can make an educated decision. In places where there is just one state run news service and nothing else, people have no choice but to go along with it.
