I'm wondering what everyone thinks the chances of a Yellowcard reunion are. While they have gone on indefinite hiatus, they didn't officially break up. I think there were several reasons why they went on indefinite hiatus:
-Pete (their bassist) left the band. Ryan Key has been quoted before claiming that he couldn't imagine writing another Yellowcard album without him.
-LP (their drummer) took a break from the band. While he never officially left the band, he wasn't with them when they did their acoustic tour in the spring of 2008. The rest of the band probably didn't want to replace him, and therefore wasn't able to go on a full band tour or record another album.
-They got dropped by Capitol Records, and they couldn't imagine going back to an independent label again. (I know, sounds crazy, they've been a really popular band since Ocean Avenue was released).
-They were exhausted from years of non-stop touring and recording.
I think there's a chance that in a couple of years Yellowcard could reunite. The question would be who their bassist would be,a nd what label they would be on. I got hopeful when they played a few acoustic shows after the announcement of their indefinite hiatus, but now nothing is going on with them. I'm not too sure what to think of the reunion rumors of a full band tour I saw on absolutepunk a few weeks ago.
What do you think are the chances of a Yellowcard reunion?
