Vote and discuss!
My vote goes to Dark Side...it takes me to another fucking world. The flow is better than any other album I've ever heard and the songs just draw me in more than anything on IV (which isn't even my favorite album by Zep).

I've never really been a fan of either, to be honest. They're talented, yeah, but not for me.

Haha I just feel like all their songs sound the same. I can't even listen to Pink Floyd all the time. Not every song needs a 12 and a half minute jam session intro. But I do enjoy DSOTM on occasion.

led zeppelin is the best rock and roll band of all time. and it is up for debate if this album is their best in my mind, because they have about 7 albums that are all very close in terms of innovativeness and creativity. whereas dark side of the moon is far and away the best PF album. zeppelin 4 has a lot of the bigger zep songs though.
matt dennis- i have another one. the who's quadrophenia vs. queen's night at the opera.

It's def not their best to me either...I think that I, II, III, and Houses of the Holy are all better albums than IV. It's not the popular choice, but my favorite at the moment is probably III. As far as Floyd goes Dark Side is easily the best...but Wish You Were Here and Saucerful I'm really fond of as well. I don't really ever listen to much after The Wall.
And yeah...polls with Cream, The Who, Queen, Black Sabbath, Tom Petty, The Eagles, and more will be on the way soon.

im a sucker for Pink Floyd, Zeppelin's cool too though
Goin' with Dark Side ONLY for the reason that it lead me to everything else Floyd has done.

i will disagree with this until the day i die.
the three best bands of all time, or the three perfect bands as i have before referred to them on here, in no particular order are:
-the beatles
-led zeppelin
-radiohead

I'm going to have to go with the Floyd. On a song-by-song basis, IV is better. But as an album, DSOTM wins.
Now if it were between DSOTM and Houses of the Holy...

I think "perfect" is an exaggeration for any band. And I have nothing against Zeppelin for what they were, I just like Floyd's vibe a lot better. Zep's stuff to me is kind of hit or miss.
Oh, and what's up Hamiltucky?

IV, its definately more of a record you can just put on and go. Dark side is more of an listening expierence for me.

The Dark Side of the Moon. It's such a solid album, and Eclipse is a very well-crafted song. It's almost perfect.

well yes, but its perfect in the way that even in a "perfect game", a pitcher still throws a ball, making it technically imperfect. i suppose different strokes for different folks. PF's stuff is to me what LZ's stuff is to you, so it;s all good.
believe me, i hate where i live hah it's in the fairfield school district though. not that that is much better.

That would make you pretty close to Jungle Jim's then, correct? See, it's not all bad!

That's why I prefer it/what I look for in most music. I generally put on lesser loved albums just to "put on and go."

fairfield township, by bridgewater falls shopping center, if you know where that is. jungle jim's is about 15 min. away, so i guess yeah pretty close by. that place is the shit.
attention everyone- if you are ever in southwest ohio, make sure you stop by jungle jim's in fairfield. you will see some real hardcore foreign food.

Ah, okay...I go to the Target there pretty often. And I second that recommendation; there was a Trader Joe's thread a little while back, and I was one of two people who mentioned that Jim's was far superior, but it went unnoticed.
I say Dark Side of the Moon because I like Pink Floyd more than Zep (though I love Led Zeppelin). Pink Floyd is just such an epic mind journey. And they wrote one of my favorite songs, "Wish You Were Here."

I gotcha, and I can respect that. Zep is def easy and fun to just rock out to.
I gotta say though, I find myself blaring side two of Dark Side quite frequently when driving to work. "Money" in particular is enjoyable on a nice summer day.
