I got accepted to Drexel University and Penn State University: Berks. They're both good schools but I don't know which one I should go to. Any advice?

Spend the night at both of them and see which one is more fun.

well, what do you plan on majoring in? or what direction do you see yourself going?that doesn't always help though. like me for instance, i went to school thinking pharmacology so i went to Stony Brook (great research university). Not even a year has gone by and I want to be a Cinema and Cultural Studies major now. My advice, go for what's cheaper.

i was at penn state a few weeks ago, it was good for a party, but i couldnt imagine living there. it is seriously in the middle of nowhere. i would go with the city and drexel.

haha, i think this decision is a little too impotant for you to be taking advise from ap.net, even though we are dashingly smarty/handsome.

Haha, I see what you guys are saying. Well my parents went to PSU and if I go to Drexel, the hardest thing is going to be giving up football Saturdays. I want to major in probably Business or Criminal Justice, not sure which one though. The appealing thing about Drexel is that it has a really good co-op program that would set me up with jobs around Philly.

Overall, Penn State has a more widely known name, and I've spent alot of time there. I'll have to check out Drexel though.

I go to Drexel. If you want football there's always Penn (at least I think they have a football team). Business is good at Drexel apparently, (I'm a commerce and engineering major under the business school). The campus is in a fun location. Any other questions, ask.

I did a 4 day summer program at Drexel. Granted this was 5 years ago so things could have changed. I thought the dorms were not that great, however being so close to downtown Philly was excellent. The downside was you are like 2 blocks from the really bad part of Philly. Drexel does have a really good co-op program so that should definitely go into your decision.
I have only been to Penn St for football games but I really liked the campus. And with so many kids on campus I figure you won't have a problem finding good parties and cool people to chill with. I think it will really come down to what kind of campus you want to live at (city vs. rural) and the strength of the programs you want to go into.

the drexel dorms depend on which one you get into. They put you in the worst one (Calhoun) for summer programs and freshman orientation. My dorm is only a few years old and its a suite style (yeah im a freshman) so theres 6 girls and we get the equivalent of 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. It's basically an apartment, and pretty much the best thing ever. There is a lot of crime going on around here, but eh it's fun.

The real thing I'm worried about is the girl to guy ratio, which I know is very low (like 64:36). But I go to an all guys school now, so I think I'll live. But if I'm in the city, it shouldn't make much of a difference.

there are going to obviously be pros and cons to each university. the best thing for you to do is go through them and figure out what ones matter the most to you. that should help you determine which one is right for you. dont chose your college over the girl to guy ratio or the party atmosphere, because that wont benefit you later in life. i would take into consideration the programs that are offered, location, school ranking, etc.

i think you will make the right decision. everything happens for a reason, and whatever university you chose will be the right one for you. but i agree... ap is not the greatest place to look for advice on this subject. best of luck!
