View Full Version : Recent movies no one else has seen.
It's fascinating to come across films that I feel no one else has seen.
Take Chain Link ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1090645/ ). Googling it returns hardly anything, and Wikipedia doesn't even have a page for it. It's a 4.0 on IMDB with no discussion.
I don't know where the fuck I got this film or why it was in my Divx collection.
It's not a good movie, I don't think.. but I don't know. Something about the film is just too strange, and seeing no information on it anywhere makes it even stranger. It's dark, hard to see.. and the lead actor can't act.. or can he? Is he supposed to be the way he is, or is he just a shitty actor? I can't come to any conclusion, which is strange.
What are some other recent movies you've seen you feel no one else has seen?

The Cake Eaters wasn't a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought it proved that Kristin Stewart can at if she really wants to.

Red Cliff (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425637/)
Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0882978/)
Red Cliff is far better than Three Kingdoms, that's not to say that I didn't enjoy Three Kingdoms though.

The Brothers Bloom and Management.
Both were really fun movies, Bloom was by far the better film, but Management was quite solid as well. It was refreshing to see Steve Zahn get to lead a movie for once.

Sugar, by the directors of Half Nelson. I saw it in april, and was (and, as of the end of july, still is) the best film I've seen all year. Completely overlooked, and I have no reason why. DVDrip out there for you young pirates out there. Check it out.

you leave feeling kind of depressed b/c you learn how so many bad things about where our food comes from and there are some really sad stories. but i liked it and i think everyone should see it b/c it's def enlightening. they could have done a few things better but over all its good and worth the money

The 5 page thread on it as well as numerous others would suggest so. I just had Warlords, with Jet Li and Andy Lau, arrive this morning. Another Chinese epic for me to watch this weekend.

Definitely going to watch this. Thanks.
I guess the only film I can throw in this thread is The Girlfriend Experience, which both isn't that obscure and is pretty bad.

I think you guys are missing the point. Who cares who saw it first, aren't you trying to get people to see it NOW?
just saying.
Also, The Fall directed by the guy who did the cell.
I was also very pleased by Coraline. Beautifully done and I think it was overlooked.

Okay, I think my independent theater just got it really late though, and I didn't lurk entertainment much before this, good to know it's getting appreciated though!
