haha. this.
seriously. did you only join this site to get an it-leaked invite? because that's the only thing you seem to be posting. why don't you just go out and buy music. give some credit to the bands that you claim to like. though i doubt you actually listen to some of those bands.

Yesss! If you truely support those bands then you would understand that their record sales are very important, not only because they get a portion of the sales, also because if the record flops... they lose their deal and are back off the map.
Why do youthink some bands have long careers and some bands are part of the in scene for 3 years and everyone forgets them. The bands with long and successful careers have fans that actually care about them and pay for the music that they work so hard to put out. You downloading the new chiodos cd (HAHAHA) for free on top of 10.000 other kids just makes the "career" they have that much shorter, because they aren't generating revenue.
Pay for your music kids.

I'm sorry, if the most accurate answer to "what do you listen to" you can give is "everything", then I have to agree with FullCollaspe, even though he's obviously a pretentious elitist asshole.

you think bands get supported off touring?
No, bands get supported because they move merchandise while on tour, (cd's, shirts, stickers)... cds are the main thing that sells on tour.
I've been down that road, I've sold cds because my "indie" label didnt give us enough money for gas..... and thats what most bands that kids that want a it-leaked invite listen to... bands on indie labels that dont get paid millions of dollars to be on a sprite commercial or show up at a club.

What I mean is, I though record companies took pretty much all of the money from the band's albums. And It was up to the band to tour (and sell merch, I suppose). 'Cause going to your local CD store to buy the newest CD doesn't really benefit the band.

yes it does... if the band gets a good contract they get a good portion of the cd sales, I know several bands that get over 40% of their sales in stores.

Well, this makes me slightly more optimistic about a career in music.

well thats good!
although its not really a "safe" career or a very likely career for most its good to follow your dreams and see just how much you accomplish.

No, I definitely need a back up plan for sure. But, even if I don't get successful, it should be fun.
