I figure since Crash Love is coming out in 2 months, and will probably leak to the internet before then, I thought I'd see what the Internets favorite AFI album is.

I love 'Sing The Sorrow' but 'Answer That...' is (in my opinion) their best. It's just amazing.

Not a huge fan, so I'm going to be an asshole and vote with the mainstream. Sorry.

You're kidding, right?

Sing the Sorrow is far superior to anything they've ever done. However, all of their albums (even the terrible ones when Mark was their guitarist) have their moments.

It's gotta be Sing the Sorrow.

it was so hard to choose between shut your mouth, black sails and art of drowning. all are great imo. chose black sails though, mainly because it has the prayer position on it

Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground were the only ones I listened to. Dig STS, but I hated Decemberunderground.

Decemberunderground should be no where near winning this poll.

AFI were on a continuous streak of quality for me until that album

Sing The Sorrow wins by a nose, with Black Sails In The Sunset in second.

I have a feeling that the only people voting for Decemberunderground are the same people who have only heard Miss Murder and Love Like Winter and never listened to any of the other stuff.

I was introduced to AFI with Sing the Sorrow. As I started getting into them and exploring their discography, I came across The Art of Drowning. It's definitely my favorite AFI album. It's the most solid album from beginning to end, IMO. I've been listening to it for years and there's just something about it. I like the fact that it was the turning point in their career where they still had that hardcore punk sound, but there was an underlying feel to the music and lyrics that was much darker. The bass sounded deep and fat, the drums were heavy hitting, and Jade's guitar was just amazing. Listen to "The Lost Souls" or "Ever and A Day" and you'll hear AFI at their absolute best. There was a passion in Davey's vocals that is missing in their newer material and damned if those gang vocals weren't some of the best I've ever heard. The newer stuff is good, but there's something that's just not quite there anymore.

Art of Drowning is a very crucial album for me. it definitely opened so many doors and helped shape my current musical taste. still love this album to this day. there is just something about it that stands out over their other albums.

Black Sails In The Sunset... I was going to go for Art of Drowning, but any album that can churn out "Last Kiss" and "God Called In Sick Today"... the lyrical content and the execution of their dark punk style... Black Sails In The Sunset is the album for me.

Sing The Sorror for me. I actually didn't mind Decemberunderground, but their old stuff still owns.

Decemberunderground is my favorite. I got into AFI on the later side, and I am a sucker for electronica-punk

I feel like this is definitely Black Sails.

I know, man. They're both such great albums. If I had to choose though, it'd definitely be Art of Drowning. I just like the album more as a whole. Black Sails has some amazing tracks though. I never get tired of Clove Smoke Catharsis. Fucking epic song. I just feel that Black Sails leans more towards the darker, goth side of things whereas The Art of Drowning is more towards the hardcore side of things. Hell, I'd say I love both of them equally. I've just spent much more time listening to The Art of Drowning. Guess I'm just more attached to that album.
