Dashboard Confessional (http://www.dashboardconfessional.com) will have the song "Don't Wait" surfacing around the beginning of May. Also, I've heard that the album is now going to see it's release in July.

I heard this song on some "Music With Altitude" special that I saw on MTV2 on Saturday. It was DC live on some mountain or something. I really liked this new song. I look forward to the record.

i appreciate Jon sharing the news with us. this isnt his fault, but this is one of the things that drives me nuts about this site.

i hate reading news like... "<band> might have a new song coming out 2 months from now"
or
"two weeks from now <band> will be posting a demo version of a song nobody cared about in the first place on purevolume." and then we will see countless news threads leading up to that date constantly reminding all of us that we get to hear a track thats been on p2p networks for the past year in a shitty compressed quality format on a flash web player.

"<band> will be entering the studio in about 3 or 4 months when they are tired of touring to track their next record. they havent picked a producer yet." or how about when bands talk about an album thats in pre-production in 2003, it finally gets tracked in 04, mastered, printed and released in 05.
<---- that kind of shit drives me crazy.

every band needs to take a lesson from mae. mae announced the everglow after they finished recording it. they didnt talk about it 5 months in advance. one day, they simply said, "hey, we finished our next record, it will be out in 2 months" and it was out right on time as they said! i understand some bands are the victims of their record label *halifax/hgb/ten* but come on.

im sorry if im being mean, but to certain bands and labels:
dont promote an album until you are prepared to release it.

everybody knows somebody over at vagrant (is he still on vagrant?) is feeding this site all of this stuff. everyone knows that its bullshit when the posters here say "word on the street is, <band>'s new song could leak around 6:00pm thursday of next week"

yea, this is a gossip forum, but someone really needs to make better decisions on what is "news"
</rant>

im sorry if i hurt anyone's feelings, but i had to get that all out. its so hard to dig through days of pointless news to get to the good stuff. i dont mean anything personal to the bands/posters, i just wish this site wasnt filled with so much crap

i'm really failing to see how this dashboard news doesn't qualify as "news" worthy to you. Is it not news worthy that they said he'll have a song surfacing around may, which will probably the single off the album (i'm assuming)? Is it not news worthy to mention that his album was pushed back? How again isn't this news for a music website?

And if it's filled with so much crap then quit reading what you're deeming "crap". we have eyes for a reason. It's to read about what we want and skip what we don't care about. settle down.

I really like Dashboard. I've never really had one of their albums and liked most of the songs on them. I like certain songs from certain albums. Hopefully they can make something that will make me like every song!

maybe if Chris was still on DTR it would be a huge deal.

i am tired of the album getting pushed back but i am not going to cry about dashboard never went away at least they have been touring steadily in the last 3 years unlike brand new. and chris doesnt have the nerve to say i am going to release a 3 disk record because we are that epic of a band even though i think they could do that unlike certain drive thru bands that are mediocher.

i hope "warmth of the sand" makes it to the new album too. i really like that song. i heard it in an episode of the inferno or the gauntlet or something like that. but i went and checked the dc site...has it really been almost three years since he's released an album?

i hate it when people say, "if you don't like something on the site, then don't visit it." that is so stupid. there are probably things you don't like about America, does that mean you should never be able to live here again? i'm sure there is a lot he likes about this site, he was just saying something that bothers him. and i agree with him. a lot of the "news" on this site is really just rumor/gossip. but there are far more positives about this site than negatives. don't tell people who disagree with you not to visit this site.

one TEN disc is boring enough, i think 3 might put me in a coma. and not a "light to no-coma" but a real one

First off, I suggest www.dictionary.com (http://www.dictionary.com) .
Second, I don't think dashboard could put out a three disc set. Chris's music doesn't have enough variety that I could sit through 30+ songs of it. Ace and TEN has the talent to write great songs with different sounds.
And let me know where TEN said "We're releasing a three disc record because we are that epic of a band".. I'd love to know where that was.

TEN is one of the most overrated bands on this site.

first, the early november is a great band, just because they might not be up to your standards doesn't mean their bad, they're just not for you.

and i'm so pissed that this cd got pushed back, i wanted to buy this cd and the thursday one on the same day. i wanted to rock out to it at my girlfriends prom weekend getaway or whatever. just give us something for now, that'll be great.
