I agree. When I talked to them, they said Lou made the songs sound very clean and radio friendly, and the Machine tracks were a lot more "raw."

Makes me wonder why they used Lou at all...

i've been extremely fortunate to have this cd for a couple months now, and everyone can be assured that it is AMAZING, it sounds as if some people are kind of worried about Lou's recordings, but it really turned out good, the harmonies made on the tracks he produced are great, they have amazing break downs, and just an all around good sound, Machine's 4 songs.... wow.. they are just pretty much ridiculous.. imagine that amazing sound that you hear on Emanuel's tracks, those really loud in your face sound that blows you away... but then apply that 80's rock sound that has been gone for the last couple of decades (think motley crue's great guitar solo's and such).. and oh lets not forget, the fact that Halifax happens to love making the catchiest songs possible.. everytime i hear the cd i honestly laugh to myself and think, the SECOND this cd drops, there will be 1000 new bands trying to imitate their sound, jackpot, jackpot, jackpot, this cd will be huge for Drive-Thru, and with Early November's cd and HelloGoodbye's cd right around the corner.. lets just say Drive-Thru has some pretty big things up its sleeve... be ready to enjoy everyone.... i'm not joking when i say this, i'm predicting their first single to be #1 on TRL.. sounds kinda far fetched.. but thats honestly how good it is.. (don't think oh all poppy all the girls are gonna love it, think EVERY single person that hears it will be like holy shit...)

By an absolute mile. It always makes me laugh when at the end of the year AP says 'well it's been a good year for music', so every year is a good year? Personally I thought last year wasn't great not to mention CD sales and download rates. Don't get me wrong, there were a number of great releases, but compared to other years i.e. this year, it just doesn't compare.
