Clairmont was officially formed in 2004 when long time friends Josh and Daniel met their second half, Ben and Michael in College Station, TX. Early in their inception, the group plunged themselves into writing their first single “the real life threats of you and me” to be released on Esotype Records Compilation One. The song lyrically held so tightly and simply to the central theme of the compilation, that it was suggested by Jeff Price (Er CEO) that they title their track in conjunction with the comp’s title. They have been writing ballads for the new millennium ever since. Recently Clairmont made way onto their own record in the Spring of 2005 with the release of The Dweller EP via the friends and family of Esotype records. By 2005 Clairmont released The Dweller EP. This seven song album gives listeners the experience of honest and passionate lyrics back grounded by straight forward guitar work, melodic backings, fulfilled with a 5-string bass, and carried by full and driving drums. Clairmont can simply be described as a band with a melodic and driving pop-rock sound mixed with well placed ballads and anthem endings. Following this release Clairmont began promoting their album by traveling Texas once again as well as the bordering States. Currently the band is writing songs for an upcoming full length to be recorded summer of ’06.
Clairmont will be touring the southern coast and east coast of the United States during Summer of 2006. Clairmont is also scheduled for a 2 week tour around Tokyo, Japan in 2007 thanks to Tsune Hiro, This Time Records (www.thistimerecords.com) and Friend of Mine Distribution.
