yeah since i heard this band on pv i definately thought they had an underoath influence. But after watching this video and seeing the guitar player taking timmy's guitar moves, that's just funny.

this band is seriously lacking in the stage presence area, but hopefully touring will kick that in shape for them
otherwise, they're pretty solid. not especially original, but good at what they do.

I have to agree with this guy, thats not right and I think we need to call em on this!
That can try and sound like UO as much as they want but the video speaks for it's self, they are not quite there yet, but what can I say, their the ones with the record deal.

come on, there are only a cople members of weatherby left to post. but dont worry, we're definetely not thinking about them when we play, i am more thiunking about dance moves from michael jackson, and the bass player of the faint...have you seen that guy move? fuckin sexy

Okay, so I used to talk about Four Letter Lie sounding like a poor-man's Underoath long before they were on Victory, then I stopped as soon as they got signed because I realized there were about 3902 replies saying exactly what I had been saying. Anyways, I'm actually going to take some time out to defend this band when it comes to this video.
This is probably the biggest stage the band has ever played on, so you do have to cut them some slack. It's kind of a one time thing for now because they won a contest to play Taste Of Chaos. Normally, bands kind of work their way up, playing bigger and bigger stages until they're playing places like Roy Wilkins, and then by that time they're ready for it. I'm sure if you stuck the guys on a floor level show, the energy level would increase tenfold. It has a lot to do with being able to interact with the kids. It's virtually impossible to do it at shows like this. Sure, you've got bands like My Chemical Romance or like Underoath who are able to play with tons of energy, but that's only because they're able to feed off of thousands of kids who know every word to every song they've ever written. Four Letter Lie isn't anywhere near that level right now, so of course they're not going to be very comfortable playing a show like this, which is pretty evident in the video. So yeah, there you go. My thoughts...
Bye bye.

I've kinda chopped this up a little bit into sections in order as to how I'd like to address your thoughts - I was at the Taste Of Chaos on Sunday, and it was an amazing show. I wrote up a review, if you wanna read it, hit me up on AIM, I'll send you a link.
1) The little slice of "stage" that was the Myspace stage, wasn't really a stage, it was more of a 15 by 15 foot piece of corner of the main stage. It wasn't anything special, had really no lighting and was pretty cramped when you got a lot more equipment on it like Pelican had.
The stage at the Quest Club in Minneapolis is much bigger, and they've played on it about a dozen times, and have played on a lot of local stages that have good size to them. Triple rock's stage is a 20 by 25, First Avenuse is a 25 by 30, 7th Street entry is a 15 by 15, and a lot of other clubs around the area have similar stage sizes, so they haven't played on that size of a stage in the past.
2) haha, you should come to Minneapolis and see these guys play in front of the local kids here. They know all the words, maybe even more so than they know underoath's record. And the set time that they played on sunday night was pretty shitty for them, I dont think that even a third of the fans there for the show were even in by the time FLL was nearly done. It took a long time to get through the doors, I know that when i got in, they had played 3 songs, and had 2 left before they were getting off stage, and there were maybe 150-200 people in front of them. But of those 150-200, they were all getting into it pretty quick.
3) I talked to Brian after their set (the singer), and He said that they all felt perfectly fine playing the Taste Of Chaos, and would gladly do it again. Brian thought he and his band had a blast doing it and can't wait to hit the road and do some really extensive touring.

Didn't they play the sidestage at TOC last year as well? If so, there goes the "inexperience in front a big crowd" argument (which also was countered by the guy above me). Hopefully it was the small stage, because they had no prescence.

i haven't seen all of those bands you've listed but i've seen a few of them and i know that some of the guitar players do some of the same things, but i was just talking about underoath in that post and i used tim as an example. don't freak out.
