I've been to Europe only once, but the culture is pretty similar in certain aspects. However, the culture over there is much more laid back. For example, they take the entire month of August off. Something I think the US could use.

you are so wrong. if anything european culture is invading america.
american culture is getting stupider and stupider as well as flashier and flashier.
european culture has always been stupid and flashy.
you used to be able to throw euro trash parties and you people would know thats what was going on. now it seems like you go to one and its pretty much like any party.

If you've ever been to the Yorkshire Dales you'll know there's no trace of american culture anywhere around there.

eastern european is terrible if it is anything like russian.
russian fashion was completely terrible. guys should never wear capris nor should guys ever wear jeans that look like they are backwards.
i went to the biggest mall in moscow and it was all european fashion and it was just god awful. i hope american fashion steers cleary of the stupidity of this fashion.
Ok, that's what you think, and could you give some more examples?
Look on the different sides of this issue e.g. the words are people using, fashion, the way they think about money,
and other different things.
I noticed that in Poland a lot of people is using English words, especially when they want to swear.
I think that in the USA people's set to earning money is bigger, but maybe i'm wrong. Perhaps i'm wrong again,
but people in the USA are more consolidated the citizenship, self-esteem is like on the higher level

it would depend which part of europe i guess. on the continent, there's not much evidence of it happening, but england is starting to get pretty similar to america in ways. maybe america is changing too, though.
Come to spain and say that. We will hit you in the face. And after that well show you how that is not true at all.

Hahahaha, I completely agree with you (being 75% Spanish). American culture is nothing like Spanish culture, nor Italian or French at least. I've been to several places in Italy and France and it's a completely different vibe.

I haven't been to england, unfortunately, but I can see the resemblance. I don't think anything is changing in Europe though, in my opinion the American culture isn't influencing Europe at all.
But what about music?I think, in many European countries American music is very popular and have
got many successes. American films? They are everywhere.

only big american movies make it over. most of the little productions dont make across the pond.
This is a silly insinuation. Europe is Europe and always will be. Also Europe is many countries, all which are pretty unique. I've visted a fair bit of the US and don't even find it vaguely comparable. I don't even find the culture in certain European countries that similar.

gahh this thread really annoyed me.
Loving the sweeping generalisations that are being made about europe. Like mps says its all different countries so therefore different customs and cultures.
I remember going to america and there was a major earthquake in turkey, killing thousands, but the news decided to focus on a bush fire.
Its not relevant to the thread, its just a point.

I just think that american entertainement is getting bigger, and really popular in Europe, but when you talk about "culture" Europe is really conservative, and won't let the globlisation change anything in any country, and Spain, Portugal, Greece, or Balkan country are really attached to thier culture.
P.S : I was in this earthquake :'(
