Anyone following these? I'm really looking forward to the rally car portion. Hoping to see Ken Block finally win. Just saw this sweet ESPN spot about him (watch it here (http://displacedbrett.wordpress.com/2009/07/31/being-ken-block/)) and it's got me more pumped.

Watching the skateboard rail jam as we speak, too.

Anyone else got any particular events/competitors you're looking forward to seeing?

I watch the x games every summer and went to them when they were in philadelphia a few years back. That big air stuff is insane.

that's awesome. yeah, i always watch them. mainly skate vert, but bmx is pretty cool too

I thought the dude that did the double front flip in the BMX Big Air got screwed....a 5th for a never before done trick...hell Pastrana crashed doing his TP Roll and he got a Bronze for it

Yea i think the judges were on some crack last night, and even in Big rail jam that last kid hit like a kick-flip 50-50 and they didn't even mention it, and I dont think he even got a medal.........

god damn i missed it. i stayed up til 4am last night watching the same motox bullshit hoping there would be some skating. i never know when anything is on.

on another note, anyone see that guy nail a double frontflip on bmx?

no i definetly enjoyed it, but i mean the one dudes car without the turbo so he couldnt do the jump, and then yea travis's fail

oh yeah totally. it could've been so much better if neither of those things had happened. i was pissed when he missed the jump simply because there was no reason to even watch the last two races.

I used to be a fan of X Games, but the more I start to follow actions sports year round, the more I find it to be a joke. It's a comp where people can get hurt and ruin the rest of their year.

It's mainly with the Moto X Racing. That's the biggest joke to me. Don't bring out the best riders in the world to run 20 laps when they have a series running.

Josh Grant had a chance to win Lucas Oil MX championship, but crashed and broke both of his legs in practice.

Anybody see what I'm getting at? Why do they need to run an event like that? Just because it's X Games?

I don't really have a problem with anything else, but it pisses me off when people think that this is all they do. One event all year. They do this year round in other comps.

No he didn't. Potter got the Bronze. BTW, as big of a Loza fan as I am, Bilko got ripped off. He pulled a new trick and Loza didn't. The judges are wack.

Probably, idk i just saw them advertising it after that badass commercial for it which i have to watch everytime, but idk if it would be more interesting to be there, or just watch it all from my house lol
