Every Time I Die is one of my favorite bands. I don't mind Fall Out Boy and I really don't like My Chem... EVEN if Geoff Rickley and Buckley do, they just aren't my style. The Killers are so fucking awful, Ja Rule is terrible and Panic! is just way to whiney for me.

That just really bugs me because both bands, MCR and FOB, were both bands touring in vans across the nation long before their mainstream success. It's not really fair to attack FOB and take MCR's back because you toured with the latter before they were huge. I can understand being upset that Panic! got the popularity they did so fast without doing much if I was a touring band in a van for years who almost died in a wreck, but you really can't hold it against them 'cause it wasn't really all their doing -- it was kinda "luck" so to speak. Either way, I dig My Chem, Fall Out, Every Time, Panic! and The Killlers; so, I'm not taking sides, it just strikes me as "odd."

I can't even consider these two in the same ballpark. Hell, it's not the same fucking sport when it comes to me liking them.

In my oppinion, FOB has one decent album (FUCT). Their live show is horrendous.

MCR has two good albums (their oldest being better).. and their live show isn't too good, but it's not as bad as FOB.

Their popularity spikes aside, I would never would have imagined myself comparing the two.

He was just using them as the comparison to MCR or something. MCR sucks just as much as the other bands he listed. being a band longer doesn't necessarily mean they are better. they may have earned their recognition more as far as effort goes, but their music itself is no better. and as far as the "radio band" argument, nobody can convince me that MCR didn't write some of the songs on their last record just to be radio-friendly.get over their image and actually listen to the music.

your average metal show is a little bit different than ozzfest/slayer tours.... there are more 45 year olds(12-15 year olds parents) at any pop punk show I've been to than at any metal show I've been to in recent memory

MCR blew up when the major label marketing dollars went to work, so this ETID dude is a douchebag and doesn't know what he is talking about. he is pissed off that bands get big so he hates on them like half the people here do. can't people get off the "hate popular bands" hype machine already. some bands worked there ass off and deserve a little credit (FOB). other bands are just amazingly talented and deserve some recognition (P!ATD). fob started blowing up by touring like crazy while still on fueled by ramen, an indy label. MCR didn't do shit on their indy label. MCR blew up when the major label marketing dollars went to work, so this ETID dude is a douchebag and doesn't know what he is talking about. he is pissed off that bands get big so he hates on them like half the people here do. can't people get off the "hate popular bands" hype machine already. some bands worked there ass off and deserve a little credit (FOB). other bands are just amazingly talented and deserve some recognition (P!ATD). Others sign to a major and get millions of dollars of marketing and then become huge (MCR).

i saw MCR way before they put out three cheers for sweet revenge, i saw FOB before they put out eithe rof their 2 big releases, i saw ETID after they put out HOT DAMn and let me effin tell ya, ETID is one of the best hardcore bands ever. Keith is a lyrical genius and his vox are sick. damn good break downs too.
