I have to write an essay/review for school on a good movie that is not R-rated. I've been thinking, and cannot come up with one good movie that is PG-13 or under. Any suggestions? I'm stuck.

Is it just a plan old review? because if that's the case you could do it for basically any animated movie (Wall-E, Toy Story 1 or 2). Also, Jaws is not rated R and that's a classic. Any of the Indiana Jones or Star Wars films would also work.

I have to provide insights into plot and characterization. It'll be tough...sadly R-rated movies seem to be the only ones with any plot worth looking into these days..

Jaws isn't rated R? I don't believe that. Checking my DVD when I get home.

You really cannot think of just one good movie that is rated PG-13 or under? There are literally thousands of amazing movies that you could choose from.

More like excellent. Two others I'd suggest are Billy Elliot and La Vita è Bella.

seriously.
There are many classics, before everyone had to have sex and swearing in movies to make it good. However, I'd like it to be a more modern film. But there were some great suggestions in this thread!

Haha, BTW, I'm not following you around on the boards trying to start shit.
TDK, Empire Strikes Back, LOTR: ROTK, ROTLA, every Pixar Film, E.T. and every classic film before the R rating was created, off the top of my head.

I actually never pay attention to what a movie is rated. Either way, I'm sure there are numerous terrific films out there that are not R-rated.

One I know for positive that is not R-rated is Wall-E, haha. It is modern and one of the best films I have ever seen.

It was pre-PG-13, so you had either PG or R. An R-rating was super rare because that meant, in those days, that you were virtually fucked financially, as no one would go see it. Any/all movies that were on the line between the two ratings (JAWS, Poltergeist) lobbied HARD for PG ratings to ensure profit.

Ah, yes. Very interesting. This made me look up the highest grossing R rated movies. The Exorcist did pretty damn well. 5th highest.

Yeah, i guess to people who watch a lot of R- Rated movies it's nothing, but for the general public the drug use, language and suicide talk put it at an R.
