View Full Version : Dream band?

Who would be in your dream band, only thinking of musical ability and NOT songwriting ability so this eliminates people like Bemis or Lacey.

Anyway each one will be different and mine will be like this:
Aaron Gillespie - Drums/Vocals - This was damn close with Saller and Aaron's vocals will be a good addition.
Dan Jacobs - Lead Guitar - Not the best I know but I was just listening to A Deathgrip On Yesterday.
Dallas Green - Rhythm Guitar/Vocals - The name speaks for itself.
Eddie Breckenridge - Bass - I don't know many bass players but that monotone line in All The World Is Mad just set the tone in Beggars and that's why I choose the Thrice bass player.
Dustin Kensrue - Vocals/Second Guitar - He's not the best vocalist out there but it's Kensrue. His voice suits almost every genre from folk to metal and him as an extra guitarist will be brilliant. Imagine him, Aaron Gillespie and Dallas Green singing together! And Kensrue, Green and Dan Jacobs playing together. EPIC!!!
Anyway let's hear the others.

Hm, in my dream band, I'd have to say I'd like to have like, good musicians in it. And if they made good music to go along with it, that'd be cool too.....

AND A SMOKIN' HOT LEAD SINGER!

That'd help.

Matt Berninger (The National) - vocals
Cody Bonnette (As Cities Burn) - guitar/vocals
Regina Spektor - piano/vocals

Matt is an amazing vocalist and (from what I've seen) lyricist, so he's a no brainer for the frontman. I know that going from that band to someone like Cody may seem weird, but I really enjoy the guitars on all of the As Cities Burn albums, and he was a solid vocalist on Hell of High Water, so I could see him doing some good backup vocals. Regina has a great voice and is a very creative songwriter, so she'd probably compliment things fairly well. I don't know enough bassists or drummers to make any educated selections here, so any rhythm section that would compliment this trio is good for me.

Anthony Green (Circa Survive): Vocals: Obviously he's amazing.
Craig Owens (Chiodos/cin sun) - Vocals: I know he is in a shit load of bands but his voice is awesome.
Matt Good (From First To Last)- Lead Guitar/ Vocals: He wrote most of the guitar for everything fftl has done and for the most part it is pretty good. His vocals are also a guilty pleasure of mine.
Jeremy DePoyster (The Devil Wears Prada)- Vocals/ Guitar: I really enjoy his voice and it would probably mix well with craig, anthony and matt's.
Arif Mirabdolbaghi (Protest The Hero)- Bass: He's really fun to watch live and when I saw them at least his stage humor is pretty hilarious.
Alex Lopez (Suicide Silence)- Drums: he's a sick drummer and would probably mesh well with everyone else.

Yeah. His bass lines with Propaghandi were consistently awesome. He can definitely do some background vocals too since he already has experience doing that with a punk band as well. I do what Chris Hannah did and let him write and do vocals for a couple of songs on each album.

We should create a separate thread for people who want their dream band fronted by Anthony Green.

I think if Jesse Lacey, Andy Hull, and Kevin Devine started a band, it would be sex.

Jesse could do bass, Andy and Kevin could play guitar, and Will Noon could join in as drummer, because I think he's an amazing drummer, and he's already in the Long Island scene.

Oh and if Sam Means and Nate Ruess played together again, I think it would be awesome if they did a folk band. With just mostly acoustic songs and maybe people from like Limbeck or something doing backing vocals and drums and steel pedal guitars and some parts.
