I think Chris is my favorite live act. I've seen him three times, and every time is surreal.

i cant wait...i feel bad that after his first album, he was in a place where he would get trashed for changing and get trashed for staying the same...

What ever happened to this guy? He was huge for a while and then he fell of the face of the earth.

it's called taking time off and then extensive writing periods
Everyone needs to realize that bands like DC and Brand New need/deserve time off and that in the end it usually only serves to fuel their engines even more when they return.

Damn that Chris. I remember being psyched that this album was finally going to come out...late last October, then post poned to November, then January, then something about May 2, now late May? What's up with that man? I need to find a copy of Don't Wait somewhere....

Hey I wasn't bashing him. Its just that at one point, this guy was freaking everywhere and then he sort of vanished. I understand that they need time off to write. I don't expect an album every year with them.

Yeah I know you weren't but I'm just sick of people that do bash bands for taking time off...

yeah I can't wait for this album!
I didn't like the part in the article where it says the new album brings it up to arena rock!...However, I have heard the live version of Don't Wait and that doesnt sound like Arena rock...that sounds like the good old Chris Carraba to me ....if that song is any indication of the album it could give The Places a run for its money, but we will have to see

arena rock? i miss the old lo-fi acoustic dashboard. but im curious to see what this album brings
I guess "emo" means as big as a variety of bands as "punk".
The Damned / Pennywise / The Offspring / New Found Glory / Good Charlotte
Each of those gets deemed "punk". Sometimes, "pop punk" (punk-pop, actually). The only "real" "punk" band on that list is The Damned.
So I guess the only real emo bands are long since gone, and these "new" "emo" bands are actually something else. Pop-Emo doesn't catch on, but that's essentially what these bands are: popular melodies and song structures fused with the origins of emo.
Many/most "current emo bands" tie in styles from punk, emo, alternative, hardcore, and pop. So I guess "emo" in a modern context means just that.

No matter where I am, I swear I will get this album the day it comes out. This will for sure make my summer. I'm not ashamed to say that this band is what indirectly got me into all the amazing music I listen to now and I will follow them until they stop making music. Great songs, great live show... just great all around.
So stoked.
