This is quite possibly one of the absolute best documentaries of seen in regards to marijuana legalization. They presented all of the essentially arguments for it's legalization including why prohibition is the issue causing the drug violence, not the drug itself. I dunno, the editting to it was done fantastically and all in all it's definitely a video I would present to anyone who was opposed to it's legalization. You really can't argue against it when you're given all the facts.

It's on Netflix instant play at the moment, I highly suggest anyone with Netflix checks it out.

I dunno, I watched it last night and I was just astonished at all the arguments he was presenting. I've seen a good number of documentaries on marijuana legalization, but this one definitely is the best. It felt like he had gotten in my head and was stating everything I felt.

I mean, if you sit down and really think about it...we have this plant...this natural plant that probably has more medical and industrial uses then any other plant on this entire planet and yet it's illegal. It doesn't make any sense. It's essentially this miracle plant that can magically and naturally help with serious diseases, that can be used to burn as bio-diesel that has no negative effects on the environment...and yet it's illegal. It makes absolutely zero sense to me.

Well, it makes zero sense in regards to WHY it's kept illegal, but there's not logical sense behind it. It's all to prevent heavy competition. If people didn't have the stigma towards marijuana that they do and it was legal, I guarantee a good portion of the country would be using it for medical purposes.

I mean, they said in the documentary is that there isn't a single documented case of someone dying from solely marijuana use. It's by far the safest drug on the planet. When you think of it in those kinds of terms...everything in life has a risk. We're always told about risks. Even enjoying food has a risk. Something as normal and necessary as eating as risks...yet marijuana as a drug itself, has none (granted, there's the risks of say smoking and then driving, etc...but I'm talking about marijuana by itself). Personally, I feel like it's one of the biggest lies in the history of this country and it's honestly really sad to see what lead to it's prohibition was essentially racism.

Now mind you, 2 years ago I was someone who was very much against marijuana use purely because I believed the lies and propaganda I'd been told for the majority of my life.

I totally agree with you. I'm saying that Pharmaceutical Companies most likely use incentives to keep it legal so they can keep selling us OVER PRICED pills that permanently rewire out brains.
Also, in reguards to what I bolded above- this was based on Mexican immigrants, correct?

As well as African Americans. The documentary touched on it a little bit.

I think we will eventually see it's legalization. I think the internet and just the insane amount of access we have to unlimited amounts of information these days is prohibition's worst enemy. People are becoming more educated and learning the truth and there's only so long they'll put up with the lies and bullshit.

We can only hope. I personally would be needing it for medicinal purposes, but it should be available for recreational use as well.

There is no reason to not legalize marijuana. It will be legalized within 5 years (all we have to do is keep on revealing the lies and propaganda), no doubt. The government wants money and the facts are all there to profit off of it. I guarantee you will be seeing the picture very soon. Once people's ignorance is removed and they start to see the facts, their minds will change.

*The only thing we have to worry about is the companies putting nicotine, tar, and other chemicals into it to keep us addicted. But still, you can legally grow it.

The fact that it isn't legal, and yet California's number one cash crop is indisputable proof as to its profitability.
Point is, if marijuana was discovered tomorrow, it would be hailed as a miracle plant: medicinally, economically, and environmentally.

I think it's going to take the older generation dying off before we see any sort of legalization...sort of the same situation as the whole gay marriage bit. I think our generation is a bit more progressive in these areas and it will take the older generation dying off and our generation taking charge before we see any real action.

What about the immidate progenitors of the current decision makers of our country? Will they, by some contrived notion of, "keeping face" in the name of their family, uphold their father's/mother's blind "morality"?

So because you turn into a dumb fucking zombie when you get high, it influences your decision regarding a policy that the entire nation has to live with? Nah guy.

1. If everyone "rolled around high", I think this country would be a little less hate infested, a little friendlier, a little less ignorant, and dare I say.....better?

2.) Legalization is not for recreational use. It's called medicine.

Besides what this idiot had to say, everyone else makes great points. Once the baby boomer legislators with all the "Reefer Madness" leave office, a renaissance of sorts will hopefully propel awareness of the benefits/truth of marijuana.

A little off track, but I saw this really shitty documentary on BBC one time about cannabis entitled "Should I Smoke Dope":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zurElIUyrdUzurElIUyrdU

I figured this British lady would set the facts straight, but she did almost the opposite. The parts you really want to see are probably somewhere on the 3rd or 4th part. Not really "fair" to have an amateur like her reefing the Dutch bud like she's Snoop Dogg.

As well as African Americans. The documentary touched on it a little bit.

Although it would have made the movie a bit longer, i think they could have touched on this point a little bit more.

I think marijuana needs to be reintroduced to the USA, with people like my mom, grandma and their friends believing this drug causes many more problems domestically than alcohol, cigarettes and fast food, they need to be informed about what this drug actually is. Now if only the US government would admit to it's own lies.

When did this nonsensical shouting argument begin? How does calling people out for "not going to college" with absolutely no evidence an argument that pertains to the documentary the OP posted? I'm mainly throwing this at abcdefghijake btw.

don't hate AP, I just get a kick that everyone here is just soooooo influnced by the media, but they act like they're unique. I'm sorry that i'm more worldly than you. It's not my fault I can tell what's real and what's not.

I love that you just constantly make assumptions about everyone. Yes, we are all influenced by the media. Every single one of us. We have gigantic blinders over our eyes and have no idea what's going on in the real world.

Get the fuck over yourself...you're 19 years old.

I'm glad you asked, it's a pretty simple answer. Common sense. Read this whole thread, I started off by disagreeing that the legalization of marijuwana would ultimatly be a bad thing for our country, the other "tools" on here took great offense, and then had the nerve to insult my oppinion. So yeah I'm going to take them down a few pegs, because I know for a fact that he isn't in school, and most likely still lives at home. The fact that everyone in here just jumped on the hate train made it better for me, becaase I have already met every single one of you in my hometown. You guys keep doing what you're doing, but in the end I'm not the one who is going to be the douchbag going to pop punk shows at teencenter with 15 yearolds when I'm 25.

Wow. I can't speak for everyone, but I feel like I've been taken down a few pegs. You're officially the wisest fellow I've ever come across on the internet. I now see that I've simply been blinded by the mass media, and I should henceforth consult with YOU before I ever again form an opinion, because you, and ONLY you, can see reality for what it is. You're a boy-prophet, unappreciated in your time.

Feel better? Again, had I known you were simply looking for validation on the internet, I would have placated you long ago.

Why not just stop? I mean, since you're OBVIOUSLY smarter than all of us, what's the point in descending to our lowly level? You've made it clear we're just idiots, and we've made it clear we couldn't care less what you say or think. Let's leave it at that and you can go find people to discuss the issues with that share your...ahem...particular worldview. We don't. Move on.

I'm glad you think of yourself as the shit, and enjoy bragging about you're abilty to drink alcohol quickly. I hope you are proud. Maybe one day you will be able to get into a college and move out of your moms house.

I'm glad because I'm a realist you think you're better then me. Indie wanna be kids suck. You're life is no more special than the ceo's on the top floors and the homeless outside, but funny that you tell me to grow up.

I think this topic is hilarious. and every time it gets argued I get a big LOL. I smoke, and I am in no way for the legalzation of marijuwana. Just imaginehow inefficent our country would be if everyone was just rollin' around high. Common sense would be great on an issue like this.

Have you ever been to Amsterdam, where weed is legal? Pretty inefficient country eh...everyone just rolls around high all the time. Just because you make something legal doesn't mean everyone is going to start doing it, I'd even argue the contrary. If weed were legalized, not only would the government benefit from taxes, but people would benefit from having a regulated product that's not laced with who knows what. One less thing for criminals to push as well.
