If you've read any interviews that we did around the release of Abandon Your Friends or if you paid attention to lyrics on that album then you, like many other people are waiting for FATA to break up any day now. Instead, we signed up for a slot on the entire Warped Tour and started
writing new music.

It's true that we were expecting a break up, mainly because over the past two years the band has been coerced in a direction that we never intended it to go. It's easy to say "I don't like this, I can't relate to it anymore so it's over". Thankfully we went on hiatus for the last few months and had a chance to clear our heads. We realized that at the end of the day we are all still very close friends and we love playing music together. We just needed to get back in touch with the fundamentals that this band was founded on. The main goal was always to have fun and the most fun times were when we were five guys in a van playing music because we loved it. There was no other reason to do it.
This genre wasn't popular and there was no money to be made. We played in houses and basements with Bleeding Through. We played in coffee shops with Taking Back Sunday. We played shows with Avenged Sevenfold where the band members were the only people there.

I'm not trying to give a "keep it real" speech on the ethics of underground music. I'm just saying it's important to remember where you came from because for a while I forgot and I was miserable.
Breaking up is the easy way out. I'd rather look at all the bad decisions that have been made and try to fix them.

Unlike what seems like the majority of people out there, I didn't and don't want FATA to break up...just because you don't like a bands latest record(s) doesn't mean you should want them to break up.

These guys have so much unfulfilled potential that hopefully this new start will unleash. I just wish they'd stop being so damn generic at times, especially when they can write stuff like Chloroform Perfume and the intro to Reflections.

"too bad you're beautiful" is still an amazing record. they really do have a lot of potential, and i hope to hear more stuff along the lines of that album. i hope that is possible with scott gross's guitar playing.

i really like them just for that statement. too many bands are getting caught up in being serious and trying to be something they're not, lately.

the other day, a very respectable man who has introduced us to a world of great music reminded me of this.

"when did music stop being fun?" and i thought about it, and i was very confused because when i was younger that's what most music was meant to be. and going to shows were some of the best times of my life. now everyone's getting caught up in the fashion and being angry and it's becoming lame. and everyone is just trying to one up another on their underground music knowledge.

how often do you go to a show anymore where people are dancing and look like they're trying to have a good time? for me, barely ever.

Just cuz the fans at that show were there for Armor for Sleep doesn't mean that they're better than FATA. It just means that fans in that area prefer Armor. Check in most other areas and I'm sure the majority of people would pick FATA over Armor. Nothing against Armor of course, I just feel that FATA is much better and has gained a much larger fan base over the years than Armor for Sleep.

It's missing so many things that the past albums had. Mainly the duel vocals. There is only one song on that cd that has it. Ironicly enough, it's their single, and everyone's favorite song.
