Definitley not ambient. It has a few ambient beginnings to songs maybe but most of it is very hard. Think Caspian but with breakdowns, slightly less complexity and less beautiful imagery. I guess a good description would be that it is much darker and heavier post-rock.

my opinion on the decreasing quality of the forum:

straight up, i think AP's quality decreased when ben (lunchforthesky) got banned. he said some really BS things sometimes, and was condescending to a lot of people, but if one thing's for sure he was really good at stirring the pot. he made this place interesting, and when he left a lot of the most intelligent posters in this forum stopped posting as much, so then discussion started to fall apart too.
